The house is in the heart of an authentic Mauritian village. Anyone choosing this location is mostly interested in daytime action in nature with fine hikes and water sports like Kite & Windsurfing and snorkeling This somewhat sleepy village is mostly inhabited by a local fishing community there is a good balance of visitors especially during kite surfing season, this pocket of Mauritius isn't overrun with tourism though. There is plenty to do & see and a good variety of places to eat & hang out. This location is best suited to those looking for daytime action, with a low key friendly restaurant and bar scene. Mauritius is a tropical , green and jungle environment We are in the heart of nature but nothing is dangerous or poisonous (no malaria)
We built this place in 2011, this was our first build. We have always dreamed of creating a beautiful place we would enjoy staying in ourselves...Kev is a native born Mauritian and myself (Trisha) am English met in London in 2004. We are a romantic couple and wanted to create potential for romance in the outside and inside spaces. We poured our love for this beautiful environment into every nook and cranny and want to express love through this building to our guests. We now live in Mauritius. Kev and I created much of the fixtures and designed our properties and we work together full time now mentoring our team and taking care of our guests. We are Pro hosts We believe that Love is the most important driver of our business life as well as our personal life, and hope to benefit the local community that is the face of our place , we hope our guests feel loved by this property and its environment.
A car is essential for this location. Taxis are not a cheap way to get around. We have automatic cars available from 1000 Mauritian rupees per day which includes a driver to pick you up and drop you off at the airport in your rental car free of charge. Buses run regularly along the coast and to the centre but there is no bus to Le Morne beach ( a gruelling 70 minute walk in the heat) or the other amazing natural highlights several of which are in the local mountains. The supermarket and restaurants are 1.5K it is a struggle without a car . It is possible to get around on a scooter but it is mountainous and the rains can be heavy at times and the sun burns.
