For den som virkelig vil oppleve det beste Helgøya har å by på. Villa Leonore er et sommerhus bygget til sporveisdirektør Dybwads kone Leonore i 1915. En hyggelig hage leder ned til en egen strand ved Mjøsa. Nydelig staudebed og en egen kjøkkenhage å forsyne seg i. Du kan slappe av på verandaen med en god bok, og lage deilig lokal og økologisk mat, med gårdens og områdets egne produkter. Det er fine turmuligheter på Helgøya, til gåturer, løping og sykling.
Vi bor på gården, ca 1 km unna. Vi er stort sett hjemme og arbeider på gården. Vi er behjelpelige med råd og tips til aktiviteter under oppholdet.
Det er masse å oppleve i området. På gården har vi en stor historisk hage som er åpen for besøkende enkelte dager i sommerhalvåret. Helgøya klatrepark er på nabogården og er en gøyal opplevelse. I tillegg finnes det fine turstier på Helgøya som egner seg til gåturer, løping og sykling. Skafferiet på Hovinsholm er åpent i juli og er i fin gåavstand for kafèbesøk. Nettsiden Midt i Mjøsa viser de nærmeste tilbudene. En Skibladner-tur er flott å få med seg. Vi synes også at Lillehammer kunstmuseum og Bjerkebekk, Sigrid Undsets hjem er verdt et besøk. For å komme seg rundt i området trenger man bil. Det er svært begrenset kollektiv trafikk i området.
