The prices has increased since Summer 2024.
The prices has increased since Summer 2024. We were unable to buy any clothes, eat out meal cost were same as UK. In order to get further bargains, visit shops outside Grand Bazar or market outside Zeytinburnu metro/Marmaray station which was much cheaper than Grand Bazar. I've been traveling to Istanbul for 15 years and I love it! However, it's gotten very, very expensive, so keep that in mind. And, just about every single taxi driver wants to cheat you! Istanbul was very nice.
Istanbul was very nice. I came for work but I could also do some walking in the city center, a Bosfor dinging on a boat and a small group guided tour of Hagia Sofia, Top Kapi palace and cisterns. I definitely recomand private tour because we succede to do three objectives in one day ( the same of our flight). Out guide Murat was awesome - fluent English speaker (from Get your guide) with a very equilibrated speach. If you plan to do some turistic objectives buy yourself that probably you can do only one objective per day because of the long queues.IoanaRomania - Scored 8.08.0
Istanbul is very varied.
Istanbul is very varied. It’s a very large city with some great history but also areas to avoid. The area around Sultanahmet square has lots of historic sights to visit and is probably the best place to stay. Be wary of scammers - you get approached a lot. Also the shoppers hike the prices for tourists / everything was very very expensive. That said the history is amazing and the city really is a fusion of East and west. Make sure you have a traditional Hamam while you are these.
