This is more of a lament rather then a review. We visited Istanbul 13 years ago and it was so much better than it is now. The popular tourist sites are mobbed. Buy etickets aheaof time and go early is my advice.JamesUnited States - Scored 1010

An amazing City. So much to see and do. Would recommend that you plan your trip well to see as much as you possibly can. Galata Tower is beautiful and the views are amazing. Basilica Cistern takes your breath away. Blue Mosque is unreal, photos don't do it justice.

I loved the chaos of the European side and everything it has to offer but it can be too intense after a few days. One of my favourite experiences was visiting Çamlica Camii on the Asian side. Hearing adhan (with the chilling acoustics of the complex) was extremely moving, and they have a really good (and quiet) Islamic civilisation museum.
