Birchwood Hotel and conference centre is such lovely place to stay, whether with friends or with your family. The best place I have ever been next to Albufera in Portugal. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms with a small fridge, microwave, cutlery and crockery and a sitting area all in one room. Bathrooms with both a bath and shower. The courtesy of ALL STAFF MEMBERS from the drivers to the janitor to the gym staff to the restaurant, oh people are just so warm and so helpful man. There are shops and restaurants just outside the rear gate and the East Rand shopping mall is only about 3 or 4 minutes walk. SAFE neighborhood.

We spent a lot of time at the shopping centers mainly for lunch and dinner and of course for shopping's. We visited Mandela Museum house in Soweto and Johannesburg city. We had planned our holiday during summer for maximum site visits, unfortunately the weather was not on our side, it was mostly cold with heavy rain, thunder and lightning.

From the day we checked in I and family saw that we fid not make a wrong choice at all. Everything was sparkling. The management was vey helpful and always ready to assist clients. The place is sparkling clean. The garden and facilities are just marvelous to say the least. A worthy place to be at.

The place is closer to Mall, factory shops and Spur and Macdonalds which are reachable by walking. The hotel is beautiful and staff are warm and helpful all the time. The yard could do with an upgrading and cleanliness. My God the room was epic wit a big comfortable bed. Well the obvious uncomfortable sounds of planes is literally inevitable which is also a plus to reach airport easily and avoid JHb traffic coz its literally 14 mins away.zungu

I had to work long hours. The comfort of the hotel made as easy as the comfort of the room and the relaxing with a nice very well prepared dinners next to the fireplace and a good spread of breakfast in the mornings with friendly help full staff. On the nights I had to work late staff made sure our dinner was in our rooms on arrival still warm. I will always return there as I have done over the last years.nicoSouth Africa

The best part of the trip was Mam Thuli who worked at the breakfast area. I have never encountered a more friendly and helpful hotel staff member. She went over and above to ensure we were happy and the food was to our liking. Some guests arrived after the end of breakfast and she still ensured they were well taken care of. (I know I would not have been as friendly and accommodating).
