Rooms were comfortable and next to each other, ideal as we were traveling as a family.
The water was cold in our room. However, they made arrangements for us to have a hot shower.
Access control was to our liking.

It is a quiet little town. We didn’t get to see much as we were there for a family Christmas celebration and almost everything was closed. I didn’t see any attractions that stood out for me, so I wouldn’t know what to recommend to a fellow traveller

I wouldn’t elect to visit again. We only went there for a wedding (stunning wedding venue just outside the town) but Ermelo itself is not the best kept and the trucks drive right past all the accommodation (most accommodations are in a specific road and this seems to be the main truck route, making it super difficult to sleep).

Ermelo is an OK place to stop if you are travelling from the east coast on route to J'burg or up to the Kruger area. It is a very busy town, with quite a lot of heavy traffic. There is a fairly large supermarket if you need to stock up on provisions.

We stayed in the middle of Ermelo & Chrissiesmeer which was the intension as staying in town isn't always the best option to get away from
the hustle and bustle.
We mainly visited Chrissiesmeer and the lakes surrounding it( the ones
that was accessible and not on private property mostly are on private property not accessible or 4x4 needed if you do not stay on the farm. We didn't know this so if birdwatching is what you came for try to arrange with locals to assist taking you to special lakes .The area is very scenic and driving towards Lesotho is worthwhile.
The house is truly magnificent; our room was big and beautifully decorated; same applies to the communal kitchen and the dining room where we had breakfast;
Abe is a fantastic host which makes you feel at home with him in this truly grand house which is marked by his exquisite taste; his home-cooked breakfast is not to be missed and was the best of our stay in South Africa;
Stayed in Ermelo for one night in transit to the Kruger National Park
The host was incredible helpful and friendly. About the place itself - you have an incredible feeling of being in the middle of the real farm with the beautiful landscape while enjoying the comfort that in no way worse than in the very decent big city hotel (even better - you have your own place for the bbq, although we didn't have a chance to use it because of the heavy rain). Definitely recommended.
Beautiful cute apartment, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It was spotless and had all the necessary amenities. Ermelo is cold, especially in winter, so I enjoyed staying in a cozy warm bed and streaming my favorite shows in the lounge with the heater on. They have the most comfortable bed and couch. I definitely want to come back again to experience this place, I rested well
Absolutely wonderful experience. Hennie and Zonica made me feel so welcome and really go the extra mile for their guests. The room was stunning and very clean, equipped with a heater, electric blanket and extra blankets. The dinner and breakfast provided were definitely value for money. I would go back and stay any time again!
Stayed in a lot of guesthouses in Ermelo and can honestly say, this is the best one so far. Rooms was 100% adequate and offered exactly what was stated, beds was comfortable, rooms was spacious and kitchenette had everything one needed for the stay. We booked 2 rooms, family room and double room. Both were top notch!
We loved everything. We felt safe. Mr and Mrs Stark were welcoming and kind to us. Photos dont do this place justice. It's amazing! This is the ONLY place I will stay at when we visit Ermelo in future. We are happy.
Dinner was delivered to the room. The fillet and roast veggies for me and chicken salad for my wife was top quality....well prepared. Unfortunately serviettes and condiments (pepper & salt) were not provided.
