Toni was an excellent host - welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable about Kyoto's history, places of interest and restaurants. The hostel was so beautifully furnished and designed in a traditional Japanese style, which will feature well in anyone's social media post. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Certainly, this place is up there to be the best accommodation that I have stayed in.

Hazuki Kyoto er staðsett á milli Kamogawa-árinnar og Takase-síkisins, í 20 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Kiyomizu-dera-hofinu og Gion-hverfinu. It was wonderful experience for me and for my family. The design was increadibly beatiful and simple. We really felt the traditional japanese housing from inside to outside. Not just the house but the neighborhood was also quiet and wonderful. When you get out from house you step on a beatiful tarditional housing area with an old river next to it. Hazuki kyoto is not like a standard concrete building with interiors covered with japanase style. It is itself trditional ryokan from inside to outside. We loved it. The owner is a great man and we also loved him. We came to checkin late and he was out because he should have taken one of his hotel guest to hospital. He left right messages and right notes for us to checkin flawlessly. And we did. But he felt deeply sorry for this to happen. Even though It was totally ok for us. He apologized many many times. He presented gifts to us, to my son. We are deeply honored by him and his hotel and his country. I would definetely recommend to anybody who plan to go to Kyoto By the way There was ac, floor heating, beatiful and large private bathroom, room was also clean and enough for three. Close to convinient stores and metro station.

This was the first "real" hotel my cousin and I stayed at while in Japan (others being Hostels and Capsule Hotels), so this felt like we were staying at a palace. It was great to have a shower and washer/dryer in our room. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating; they even helped me locate a water bottle that I thought I had lost and held it for me to pick up later. The area was also very nice; we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit while in Kyoto.
