The location was excellent, close to the station, and some important landmarks were about a 10-minute walk away. The room was spacious and very clean. We definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The house itself is amazing, really well equipped and situated... But the true highlight is the owners. They're both incredibly warm, welcoming, helpful people with a genuine sense of hospitality. My stay has been made so much better thanks to their presence; aside from the fact that they're genuinely a joy to be around, they are a well of good advice about the city and its sights... And they won't leave you hanging if you encounter any difficulty. On the last night of my stay, I got myself in a situation where my rental bike got stuck in a closed parking lot; they offered to go and return it for me in the morning so that I wouldn't have to worry about it before leaving. They really did me a solid there! So, yeah, if you want to have the opportunity to interact with people who have a true sense of hospitality and community and are looking to hear about the city from the perspective of people who live there, you cannot go wrong with Kokonoe Michiya. Plus, it's close to what turned out to be my favorite part of the city; the northernmost areas.

Offering air-conditioned rooms in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, situated between Kamogawa River and Takase canal, Hazuki Kyoto is 20 minutes stroll from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District. My boyfriend and I stayed for 6 nights. The host/hotel manager is absolutely phenomenal. We loved his presence and were very easy to contact via WhatsApp and ask about or tell anything. There were a washing machine for free use and he was taking very good care of his guest. No noise between neighbors or any other annoying sounds from the streets. Very calming and felt at home after just 3 nights. Sleeping on the futons on the floor was amazing for my back, had to get used to it the first 2 nights else it's been absolutely amazing. 10/10 would recommend everyone to go here and would gladly go again if I come to Japan again!

Providing free WiFi and a garden in a renovated 50-year old building with mountain views from the property, Rc Hotel Kyoto Yasaka offers accommodation in Kyoto, 600 metres from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. This hotel was amazing - perfect location, in the heart of Gion. Small hotel so felt very private, the bed and pillows were so comfy I was sad to leave! The hotel staff were very lovely - highly recommend and would definitely return!! Ps the rooftop view is amazing!
