House was in a good location close to restaurants and supermarkets. About a 7 minute walk to train station. Everything was lovely and clean and beds were comfortable. It was well equipped. Communication was very good with host and instructions for gaining key access were easy to follow.

Beautiful location by the bay. The sauna and baths were amazing. Excellent place to stay while riding the Shimanami Kaido.

The breakfast, as others have said, is very exceptional (seafood based so not vegetarian). I guess the host was a chef or something of the sort for 30 years. The facilities were clean, and there were no problems. It was a convenient location for us because there were fireworks nearby on the night of our stay.

Amazing from beginning to end, our favorite stay during our trip to Japan. Some of the best food we had, the onsen was very comfortable and the location was gorgeous. Highly recommend if you are doing the Shimanami Kaido!

Brett Cox, a member of the staff, is a native English speaker. He made our stay exceptional. Kudos also to the chef for accommodating vegetarians, not an easy feat in Japan. Omotenashi has been perfected by the Setouchi Retreat. Well done.
