We went at night and the view was good but can be windy up...
We went at night and the view was good but can be windy up there, so bring a jacket. It was a short visit because of the cold in March - no time to linger at on-site basic coffee shop at top. There is another coffee shop at ground level but we did not visit this.

Choose your visit carefully.
Choose your visit carefully. Check the air quality and winds. With 22 million people in Cairo and probably the same amount of cars, smog and air quality can affect your view. Likewise if it is windy then sand storms can also affect what and how far you can see. Remember you are on the edge of the Sahara desert.

Underrated place. please force your guide to take you here! If you don't have a guide, even better. I went close to lunch and after enjoying the 360 view, I had lunch. You can see all of the city of Cairo. it was clear enough for me to take photos of the Giza Plateau. you can see just how massive the pyramids are.

Can be quite a wait to get into the lifts to go up the tower...
Can be quite a wait to get into the lifts to go up the tower. If you want to eat at the restaurant book ahead because we were unable to secure a table on the day. The view of Cairo is great. We timed it so that the sun was setting during our visit so we saw the city in daylight and lit up at night. Stop for a drink in the cafe and enjoy the view.

At the top can see 360 degrees for all of Cairo.
At the top can see 360 degrees for all of Cairo. Restaurant at the top. You might have a long wait for the elevator to the top. Nice mural inside waiting for the elevator. Several restaurants on the grounds.
