Ensure to make use of your Budapest City card, I got in free with mine, you can also use it to get to aquincum for free using the urban railway as it is within the city limits. There's a great room for children on the lower floor of the museum with interactive activities. Also don't miss the amphitheatre which is not in the museum grounds, but right next to the train station opposite the road.
These Roman remains are a must if you like history. It is lovely walking round the Roman town. It is peaceful and there is a replica of a Roman house which is incredible. It is easily reached on public transport.
"Leftovers" from the Roman Empire era. It is okay, well renovated but not rebuilt, the actual tour with a guide might be an interesting afternoon event, but you can see much more interesting remains of this era elsewhere.
Well worth the visit by train far north of Budapest. Ruins are extensive, and two sites exist. A museum (modern) of Roman artifacts and description of baths is outstanding, but a long walk is need to get there. It rivals the ancient Roman site of Carnuntum outside Vienna.
