I had the best room in our honeymoon. As they gave us a sweet that has a big living room and has a great space in the entrance as a dressing room and a balcony in the second floor. Above all, the decor and design of the sweet is absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed it a lot. 100% going to it again. The staff is very welcoming and helpful and so nice. The parking is also great and the cost of it was on the range of Italy parking to a lot. The location is a bit far from the center shops 12 minutes away walking but it’s very enjoyable and safe to walk. The hotel has a great view.

It's well worth searching for self guided walks in Florence to escape the crowds. We particularly enjoyed this part of our trip. You are afforded super views of the City from here. Avoid the touristy market shops which inevitably surround the Piazzale.

Worth the hike up to the Piazzale Michelangelo for the view of the city. We chose this over the Duemo … I’m sure the view is just as good and it’s free. We carried on up to the cemetery which is worth a visit.

A great view of all of Florence.

A great view of all of Florence. Definitely worth the walk up there (it's not that bad or that steep; maybe in the heat of August is a different story, but we were there in May). And yes, there are public toilettes up there -- 1 Euro. Always have some spare coins in your pocket for public toilets!

The hotel was excellent. Location could not have been any better. The family room was huge, clean, comfortable and good aircon. Breakfast was excellent too. The surrounding area was great for food and shops and also very close to the main central food market and main sights. We used a taxi once to go to the Piazzale Michelangelo but walked everywhere else.

Do a bit of research & prioritise what you want to do & see in advance of your trip then plan a route on a map. Allow plenty of time as the queues at the main landmarks can be very long. You can easily walk everywhere but as the museums can take a good 2 hours to walk around (plus your queueing time) be realistic about what you can fit in to each day. Do find a rooftop or head uphill to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset over Florence - a magical experience.

It is a beautiful city to walk around with so much history seeping through every street. The walk up to the Piazzale Michelangelo is a little steep but short and completely worth it for the amazing views across the city.
