Take the scenic walk across Florence most famous bridge and make your way up here! It’s a lovely journey so take your time and enjoy it, then when you get to the top you’re rewarded with the most maginificent view of the city!
After taking in the views, spend a peaceful moment in the iris garden, obviously at its best in summer. You'll find it below one corner of the Piazza ( right hand end if you have your back to David!).

It’s a long track up the stairs but it’s so worth when you get there. The view of town is breathtaking. I visited this place first and felt like climbing the Duomo was pointless as you would not get the amazing view. Highly recomend
Yet another favorite place in Florence. We climbed to this place later in the evening , one could take a bus too. It was worth the climb as this place providesa spectacular view of the city of Florence one should not miss. We spent over an hr admiring the city and enjoying the quietness.
This place is perfectly located in the heart of Florence, only a stone throw away from the Duomo. In fact, if you go to the rooftop terrace, you have an amazing few of the Duomo and the square. Ponte Vecchio was only a 5 minute walk, and we also walked back and forth to Piazzale Michelangelo (approx 20 mins each way). The rooms were cozy and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The daily breakfast was fine - not amazing, and definitely not bad - but fine.
Room was big and bed comfy. Nice bathroom with huge shower and box of diffrent toiletries. Happy hour between 18 and 19. 10 minutes walk up to hill to Piazzale Michelangelo . No need for bus or taxi. NIce restaurants around . Very tasty breakfast, good coffee, Nice staff. Free parking.
very friendly and helpful staff; city centre in walking distance (about 20-30 Min along the river); Piazzale Michelangelo very close; room was clean; would definitely recommend and come back another time
It is in the heart of Florence. The old bridge is few meters from the room. Staff was very very kind. We loved this old historical city. You have to visit Piazzale Michelangelo for the sunset!
Amazing view from the terrace of the city (like the view from Piazzale Michelangelo). Beautiful location in the historical city. Great breakfast. Nice exterior and interior.
The location is nice. Approx 10 min to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Do a bit of research & prioritise what you want to do & see in advance of your trip then plan a route on a map. Allow plenty of time as the queues at the main landmarks can be very long. You can easily walk everywhere but as the museums can take a good 2 hours to walk around (plus your queueing time) be realistic about what you can fit in to each day. Do find a rooftop or head uphill to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset over Florence - a magical experience.
It is a beautiful city to walk around with so much history seeping through every street. The walk up to the Piazzale Michelangelo is a little steep but short and completely worth it for the amazing views across the city.
