When travelling to a completely new place for the first time, one of the best things you can find is a warm, friendly welcome and kindness from your host that exceeds your expectations. Going back to Wagokoro at the end of a long day in busy Tokyo city was like coming home to family. We had lovely conversations and always felt taken care of - I even felt so comfortable practising my basic Japanese with our hosts as they are so nice to talk to us every day. The room was lovely with wooden interiors, and we really loved hanging out in the common room. The common room had an equipped kitchen, free tea and coffee, and cute tables to sit and have a snack or meal. There are also lots of good places to eat around the hotel, and the train station was just a 7-minute walk away. Wagokoro had a level of hospitality that we have never experienced before, it's definitely a place we would like to stay at again next time in Tokyo :)

Close to the train station, konbini and restaurants. Our room was very big compering to other hotels in Japan we have already stayed in. Area is full of local shops and restaurants, not many tourists is living in this area, which was a advantage for us.

This hotel absolutely ticks all the boxes for me. Quiet location, very close to the a well connected train station (Nippori) which can take you anywhere in Tokyo. All the staff are professional and friendly, breakfast has lots of options and the rooms are a little larger than the average Japanese hotel room. The heating and cooling works well and shower has fantastic water pressure. Full block out blinds also made for a perfect nights sleep. I can definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again.

Really good experience, very good location, facilities and quiet room. The difference maker was Sandra from the staff, she has been amazing from checkin to checkout, being really friendly and helpful, doing the extra mile by suggesting very nice 'out of maps' spots that gave a plus to our stay and doing the utmost to make our stay special, always with a smile.

Hotel Nohga Ueno is also near to Ueno station, Ueno park, Ame Yoko, and a lot of really great spots for to eat and shop. The design of the hotel is very classy and it really feels relaxing to come back after a long day. The size of the room we booked was a lot bigger that what I’m accustomed to in Tokyo. All the room facilities are great and well-maintained: the bed, shower, toilet, etc. We didn’t even get to try the spa and the other amenities, but just because we already feel so relaxed in our room. We would like to commend and thank the friendly and helpful staff for patiently assisting us whenever we needed something. We appreciate the superb service! We particularly like to say thanks to Yuta-san, who was working at the reception, for patiently helping us locate our missing item (which we came back for a few days later) and for the rest of the staff who helped find and secure it. We will definitely stay here again!
