It’s a modern hotel with great location and good value for money. We spent here our last night before heading home. We could leave our luggages for free at the reception after we checked out, so we still could enjoy our last day in the city. As a plus, we had a great view of the Skytree and Sensō-ji from our room.

We can walk to Don Quijote. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Kitchen in room is good. Also,I like the seprerate part of the bathroom;shower and bathtub area, toilet area, which is very convenient for 4 persons in the room. Laundry room is superb. Many washing machines are available. We stayed at the Corner Suite and absolutely loved it! The room was quite big, featuring a great lounge area and providing a stunning view on Ginza. We also received a number of nice bonuses, including welcome drinks, free lounge and evening snacks (how smart it is to provide this option for 19:00-23:00 slot, unlike many other hotels who make happy hour at 14:00-17:00 when everyone is out sightseeing!!!) The location can't be better - next to a metro station, surrounded by convenience stores and walking distance to the main shopping areas. Also - many taxis around all the time unlike in many other areas of Tokyo. The staff was exceptional, remembering our choices of evening cocktails by the second night already - this is what i call being truly client oriented. Thank you very much, we will definitely stay again!

The room was perfect and clean, just a little small but that's the Japanese style in these things so it's fine, excellent location both for walking around in the evening and for going to take the subway, and I guarantee that when you're out all day and come back with lots of bags being close to the subway makes the difference, the staff was extremely helpful, they don't speak perfect English but I found it very funny and it helped make this experience much more unforgettable.

By far my favorite of the APAs we stayed in! I only regret not staying more than one night! Very spacious, double room is great for trying to accommodate 2 people and 2 luggages and the onsen is always a treat, especially recommending the outdoor one! Staff are amazing as per every APA we have been to. Right next to the metro station exit as well as like 3 minutes walk away from the Sugamo JR exit.

Musashino is a Tokyo city suburb - accessible to central Tokyo in 20 minutes. Musashino area includes Kichijoji with a huge variety of dept stores, shops, eateries, restaurants of all cuisine types, and also the wonderful large Inogashira Park and its large pond, as well as Ghibli Museum. Nearby are more sedate areas of Nishi Ogikubo and Mitaka.

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.

The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.

The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.

Most important: Rent a car when visiting.

Most important: Rent a car when visiting. The island isn't suited for exploration by foot. The distance between places of interest can be great and the whole island is full of steep slopes. I rented an electric bike and would only recommend it to people who have the explicit goal of biking. It is worth noting that you can reach the island by ferry AND plane. Taking the ferry has three sleeping options - I STRONGLY advise against anything but the most expensive one. I don't know if the first class is good, I just know that the other two are a surefire way to a bad night. Taking the plane is about as expensive or even cheaper than first class on the ferry, only takes an hour, and isn't a 10 hour ship ride. IF you take the ship to the island, I strongly recommend taking the plane back. The ferry leaves for Hachjiojima at 22:30 and arrives at 9:00 - an overnight trip. But it leaves the island at 9:30 and arrives in Tokyo at ~20:00, meaning you lose an entire day. Regarding the island itself: I think some of the highlights are climbing Hachijofuji and exploring the abandoned Royal Hotel. Both are manageable within a day. Depending on the weather, Hachijo has a beautiful night sky - it's not called Dark Sky Island for nothing. Other things worth doing are visiting Plant Park in the west of the island and exploring the southern side. There are some nice onsen experiences to be had in the south, but not all of them are open at all times. Planning a trip of two days, - arrival by ferry at 9 AM, doing things, spending a night, doing things and leaving by plane at 5 PM, - seems prudent choice. It's a subtropical island, which you might want to keep in mind if you plan on visiting in summer.

Tokyo is very busy and crowded and now many foreign tourist (like us) are visiting compared to the pre-Covid period. NYC has small compared to Tokyo. But everyone should experience Tokyo at least once in a lifetime. Please learn and research about Japanese culture, customs and practices to be a respectful and responsible visitor. Japanese people are very respectful and generally reserved. they are helpful if you are polite and respectful towards them. Try to speak quietly and gently to align with their general customary behavior. Of course in certain circumstances people will be lively and louder. There are no garbage cans so keep a disposable bag with you for your garbage which you can empty upon returning to your hotel. Please move to the side and do not stop in the middle of the sidewalk or block pathways when you are looking at your mobile phone for directions. Always be mindful to not inconvenience others especially when you are privileged to be a visitor. The local people are working and studying, running errands so they need to get to where they need to be by a certain time.

Love this neighbourhood.

Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.
