Very nice property overlooking the river. Rita at the front desk was very cheerful and helpful and gave us all the information we requested. We got a room upgrade as it was my wife's birthday. Breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was very good, fresh fruit, eggs and omelots made to order, very good variety, attentive staff. Excellent location for site seeing by foot. The Bolsa Palace and the Church of ST Francis (Unesco site) are literally a block away which gave us something easy to do on a couple of rainy mornings. We would definately stay here again. We were in a room over the lobby, street side and it was very quiet, so excellent soundproofing.

Take the Linho do Douro train (~2h) and stay at least 2 days...

Take the Linho do Douro train (~2h) and stay at least 2 days in Pinhao. Sit on the right hand side to enjoy the sights of the river. Take a rental for at least one night. Take a 2 hour boat ride, one hour is not enough. The next day you should do wine tasting, including a short tour of the winery. Top this off with a meal at the winery's restaurant, some of which carry Michelin stars. Do make reservations at one of the booths in front of the train station.

The Douro river trip is well worth doing, seeing the vineyards and old buildings along the way. There was 5 bridges to go under some newer that others, very interesting information given as you go along. A very special place.

The Luis I bridge is nice to walk across.

The Luis I bridge is nice to walk across. Go one way on the lower level, than back on the high level. Choose your time well, as it can be very crowded. Avoid Ribeira. It's too crowdy, too expensive and too touristic. Go a little upward into the town, you can find way better places.

Beautiful area but expect lots of walking.

Beautiful area but expect lots of walking. If having dinner in Riberia check out what time sunset is and be sure to be there when the sun goes down and the lights come on for a lovely view over the river.

River trip well worth doing.

River trip well worth doing. Walk over the bridge(pictured) almost rubbing shoulders with the passing trains for stunning views. Cable car amazing over the roof tops and down to the Port wine cellars. A tram service also takes you along the Douro to the sea.

Lots of ways to make the most of the river, cruises, ferry, walks, buses on the roads running parallel - and lots of places to simply stop and watch, whilst sipping a glass of something and eating a small plate of local cheeses.

Very good view of the porto douro river, we booked the river view about 25€ more expensive in February. The rooms weren't very big but quite confortable l. Had coffee and tea with kattel, I liked that. But the stuff on the fridge was payable so be careful.

retro and romantic atmosphere. the appearance of the house is delightful. right next to the Alfandega congress center. bus and tourist tram stops right in front of the house. a perfect place to discover the old center and for trips on the Douro River. The host is extremely kind and available for information and assistance of any kind. Francisco offered me a welcome meeting. I appreciated the Port wine and the fruits offered. a place that I keep in my heart, with the hope that I will return

The apartment has a wonderful view of the Douro river, just stunning. The two bedrooms are a good size. Even the smaller second bedroom has a balcony and view of the street and neighbouring cafes. Has restaurants, cafes and mini mart 30 metres walk from apartment very handy.

The location is outstanding. The view of the Dom Luis I Bridge and the Douro River is absolutely beautiful day and night. The apartment is beautifully furnished with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and downstairs. Comfy couches and a great dining area. The breakfast was 8 Euros per person and it was very generous (ham, cheese, boiled eggs, rolls, croissants, jam, butter, tea and milk, juice, chocolate milk etc). We travelled Europe for 10 weeks and this was the best accommodation we stayed in. Highly recommended.

Maria was an attentive host and provided excellent instructions on how to access the keys. The space is reasonably large and the kitchen has many utensils. The beds are comfortable and it´s beautiful the view from the windows to Rua Almada and the buildings on the horizon. The location isn't exactly very close to the Douro River, but it's next to restaurants, bars, and cafes with good and inexpensive food and drinks.
