Our visit to the town of Marvao and the amazing accommodation of Dom Dinis Marvao was nothing short of a storybook visit. This place is straight out of a fairy tale and The entire visit was totally surreal. It was so cool. The views from Marvao, and especially from Dom Dinis are as good as you can possibly get. This place is in the best spot of Marvao. The staff was unbelievable! Julia worked so hard to answer all of our questions and make sure that we were happy all the way up to opening up the hot tub on the beautiful deck so we could enjoy the sunset and the hot tub with a glass of wine. It just couldn't get any better. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Julie also set us up for dinner at Veranda de Alentejo and we had an incredible experience there from the service and the special attention to the excellent food. Our entire experience here was amazing and it was all attributed to Julia and the staff at Dom Dinis. Do yourself a big favor and go off the beaten path a bit and take a trip to Marvao and stay at Dom Dinis. It will be an experience you'll never forget and something straight out of a storybook like I said before.

We were well received by Joao who showed us each one of the rooms and the facilities of the hotel. We arrived on a cold rainy day so after we had lunch and were able to check in, we ended up cozying up at the fireplace room (with plenty of wood to keep the fire going), were we had a chance to relax and have good conversations. It was nice that there was a small shop at the hotel's entrance where we were able to buy some of the best olive oil of Portugal and some other gifts to take home. We went to dinner at a restaurant recommended by Joao and after that retired to our very comfortable, and warm, rooms. In the morning, we had a nice breakfast at the Estalagem. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Marvao.

Plenty of hot water for a shower and the shower was designed well that it didn't leak water like most, parking was right there in front of the hotel reserved, the Wi-Fi was excellent, the front desk help was very helpful in trying to reserve an activity the next day and they were willing to store some cold foods in their refrigerator for us.

We arrived at Casa do Vale for one night, mainly to see the forts in the nearby town. This is a rural and isolated accommodation complex, very quiet, clean and well-kept, the owner of the property helped us a lot to find the place, the rooms were beautiful and well-decorated. The complex has a pool, but it was too cold to go in and the valley where the complex is located is simply picturesque and stunning. warmly recommended.

The Hotel is centrally located inside the historic walls of the village within easy walking distance to the castle and all along the ramparts which offer amazing views. Plentiful free parking was available next to the property. Breakfast had a lot of variety and staff was able to accommodate us with GF bread and recommended the very good Varanda do Alentejo restaurant for supper. The town has a high end feel to it with all the buildings nicely renovated while keeping their historic charm.

Very quaint hotel very close to the castle, not that we could see it for fog and rain! And parking close by. Marvao is amazing, but the weather sent us home early. Teresa Isabel, our host was wonderful. The room was small, being old, but room for our dog. No dog supplement. Even a mini bar with reasonably priced drinks.

A beautiful little cottage tucked away in the medieval village of Marvao. There's a castle right next door and the village itself is fun to wander around in. The owner of the hotel was friendly and gracious, and the room was perfect. It felt like I was staying in a distant relative's home and not a hotel. Also, the breakfast was incredible. Definitely sign up for breakfast.

A hidden gem in a beautiful mountain village. We booked this last minute as a stopover for one night and regretted not staying longer. A small, cozy, family run hotel. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. The food was delicious and the ambience was very relaxing. You cant go wrong with this lovely hotel.
