Do yourself a favor: if you’re planning to stay here for just a short while, stay a little longer. We’ve traveled all over the world and stayed in all sorts of places, and this is undoubtedly one of the best, set as it is in its beautiful, pastoral middle of nowhere. The hosts welcome their guests like friends, and it seems as though they do this not for business, but because they genuinely enjoy it. The house is equipped with everything you need to prepare breakfast or dinner, and they’ll even give you fruit and eggs from their farm. You can sample the wonderful family wine from the vineyards on the hillside below the house. The location is both mountainous and secluded, yet just 10 minutes from the highway and 60 km from the capital, Ljubljana. We’ll be back and will stay longer the first chance we get.
