The best hotel I stayed in while in Japan. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The detailed design and finishes of the room were outstanding. The bathroom colour for instance was an unexpected yet VERY classy. The staff was friendly and super helpful in helping me get around.
I loved the reception area. Also well appointed with a beautiful stream view. The apéritivo till 10 PM was an excellent touch (sake collection, snacks, tea and coffee).

1. The luxurious toilets. Better than most 5 star hotels.
2. The excellent location. One minute walk to sanjo Station which is along keihan line which will bring you to most famous sights in kyoto.
3. Close to car rental shop. Do a day trip out with driving. Taxis are everywhere as well.
4. Excellent location again. Walk to gion, nishiki, kamo river, pontocho, ninenzaka, kiyumizudera, shopping area at kawarachi.
5. Huge beds and room. Our room accommodated 2 adults and 2 kids for 4 nights comfortably. Rooms are quiet and clean.

A wonderful modern hotel providing the traditional japanese experience.
From check in we felt treated like VIPs, the exec lounge had free champagne in happy hour.
Superbly large and comfortable room, fully stocked with toiletries, coffee machine, etc
I loved seeing everyone in the hotel walking around in the supplied Japanese clothing - so cool.
The restaurant looked amazing so I advise people to include dinner

The decor is lovely, the rooms are spacious and luxurious.
The spa is nice, the breakfast in the room is a nice option.
The staff are friendly
We enjoyed the piano bar in the evenings
We went to the Japanese restaurant which has a Michelin star, I have severe allergies to some fish and the chef was very friendly and accommodating with my dietary requirements which I appreciated and the food was tasty.

Alex at reception was a joy. We wanted to adopt him as we have grown-up sons like him already. So helpful, polite and respectful. His employers and his parents should be very proud of him, as he should be of himself. Room facilities were excellent. Everything to hand. Deep bath was a greatly-appreciated luxury. Location superb - within easy walking distance of numerous sights, eating places, shops etc etc. View over the water was lovely.

This hotel was a treat to ourselves on our long trip and it certainly lived up to expectations. I didn’t give 5 stars for comfort as we chose the futon bed for the incredible suite with the wooden soaking tub, so not the most comfy bed but that was my fault!

Our rooms were overlooking the beautiful and tranquil gardens. The whole property exuded serenity and luxury. The staff were absolutely superb. We were able to enjoy our room with the wide range of beverages. The dinner was absolutely delectable. Even my teenage kids tasted everything. Not only were the dishes well presented, the food was heavenly. It was also a very short pleasant walk to nearby temples.
