Staff all have been excellent, I stayed 2 nights, when I was leaving the weather warmed up and roads became slippery, staff offered free car driving me to the bus stop, ver sweet! The price is very good, foods are well presented and very good in cold weather, enjoyed so much, I am staying in shirakawago tonight, price is very high! Suggest anyone heading this way to stay at kaminashi, even transport is not great but if you plan well you will enjoy. You can take bus from takayama to shirakawago and visit for lesser than 2 hours, get on heritage bus ( prepare some cash, even they said you can use credit card, but I took five times , 3 you can, other 2 cash only!) stop to visit suganuma ( there are lockers at bus stop only 100en), get on heritage bus again and stop at kaminashi to get to this hotel; next day get heritage bus to visit ainokura ( coin lockers at bus stop too), then get on heritage bus and head to takaoka or shin takaoka! Best trip!

This hotel is perfect! The place and its surroundings are really gorgeous. The onsen is nice too, which is free of use use. Highly recommended.

The most beautiful accommodation I’ve ever stayed in anywhere ! Superb service and they were all so kind, warm and thoughtful. Staying here resetted my nervous system. Everything was amazing. The accommodations were authentic Japanese. Very beautiful and quiet location, very peaceful. The family that runs it were so sweet and accommodating. Food was exceptional , very authentic Japanese and was delicious. Onsen was beautiful and very relaxing. Room was huge and accommodated 5 of us comfortably. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!

Very good experience for a family overnight stay. Excellent Japanese dinner and breakfast was served in our room. Special preparations delighted our small grandchildren, including colorful yukatas, kids meals, and chldren's games in the lobby. Staff was very attentive.

I was a bit nervous about staying since my Japanese isn't super great, but they had English speaking staff who helped us whenever it was needed. So there aren't any language barriers for English speakers. Wonderful place and service is great if you know what you're getting into.
