Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. The room was nice and spacious, cozy and comfortable. They have an amazing variety of onsen and perhaps the only place with mixed onsen which I enjoyed very much with my husband. Staff was amazing as well.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, our waitress for our dinner was very fun to converse with, along with everyone else we spoke with. The dinner was very well made, the facilities were beautiful, and our rooms were everything we could’ve asked for. The location is also excellent in the middle of everything, allowing for an easy walk around Kurokawa.

Kurokawa Onsen Yama no Yado Shinmeikan features 5 hot-spring baths, including a 30-metre long cave bath. The staff was extremely helpful, parking our car for us and helping us navigate. The cave onsen was stunning, as the cave was much larger than I expected and very interesting, and the water was very relaxing. The food was also incredible!

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. We stayed in Shion room which was really special with a stove in the living room, a foot bath room and indoor bath. The outdoor public bath was really good too, and not crowded at all in the morning. The service provided by all the staff was very welcoming, making us feel relax and comfortable. Really enjoy the stay.

Located in Minami Aso in the Kumamoto Region, 10 km from Naka-dake, Hotel Yumeshizuku boasts a hot spring bath and sauna. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. The views and location were sublime. As soon as we arrived the staff went out of their way to make our stay special in every way. The food was also amazing and the onsen was relaxing. Situated in the centre of the Kurokawa Onsen Area and boasting a total of 8 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Nanjoen offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with tatami (woven-straw) flooring... THis was my first stay in a Ryokan and it did not disappoint. THe whole experience was magical - the room, the view over the hills, forest and town, the baths. The meals were excellent - two different breakfasts and and we took to the opportunity to have the Kaiseki dinners - an amazing assortment of tastes and textures. Kurokawa is a magical town that is wonderful to walk aroundand we took the opportunity to get an Onsen passport to try a few of the other baths. THe parking is easy. THe staff were excellent and patiently helped us understand the way to to enjoy a Ryokan

Boasting various indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Fumoto Ryokan offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation with a historic charm. It is surrounded by serene greenery next to a river. Very good as had multiple hot springs to try out from. Staff were friendly and helpful in bringing the luggages. Food was good
