The building is a nice historic manor; although it's a bit retro, it has its charm and we really liked the surrounding area. The staff was friendly to us and we had overall a good time.

We chose Happy Fisherman on the basis of its cost, size, pet friendliness and location relative to the Hirtshals ferry terminal. What impressed us most was the flexibility and service we received from Johnny, the host. We were way earlier than expected and he was happy to accommodate our late notice early check in. We left very early in the morning and he was outside clearing snow from the pathway!!! Property is perfect for a small family exploring the area or laying up 45 mins short of the ferry like we were. It seems to be in a really nice residential area but just a few minutes from some nice child friendly restaurants and shopping if you need it.
