We really appreciated everything, from the spontaneous warm welcome and disponibility of our hosts, the comfort of our bedrooms, the spotless bathroom and the shared kitchen and sitting room. The welcome pack in each room was an unexpected plus, as was the well equipped kitchen with its coffee machine. We extended our stay to 3 nights and would have been delighted to have stayed even longer. There was a lovely relaxed ambiance with shared conversations with the other guests around the huge communal dining table on the terrace. This is a place to be highly recommended, very quiet but not far from the motorway and within 20 minutes of the vineyards of the Graves and Sauternes areas.

We had a let down in our originally booked accommodation and found Les Vieille tuiles from a last minute search on Booking.com. Having only given Bruno and Marika three hours notice of booking, they had everything prepared and ready for us when we arrived. The accommodation, deep in wooded countryside close to Cudos, was spacious with a pool on the doorstep. The location and surrounding countryside was excellent, as were our hosts Bruno & Marika who were so attentive. Wonderful croissants and fresh eggs laid by their own chickens, virtually on your doorstep, every morning for breakfast. Cudos itself is a small village but has a nice shop where you can stock up. It also has a restaurant which looked rustic & quaint, but unfortunately it was not open during our stay. Bazaz is the closest town with a cathedral dedicated to St. John the Baptist, interesting streets to explore and good shopping. On our final evening we had dinner there in one of the many very good restaurants, on the day of the annual St John the Baptist festival. A wonderful colourful and entertaining evening and perfect end to our stay.

We stayed in order to visit the Fete des Boeuf Gras Bazas. For us, communications were top class, with a caring and warm welcome, which was totally evident throughout our stay. Our room, 11, could not have been more perfect for our needs. The location of the hotel was perfect, in order to easily walk to centre ville, and what a treat centre ville is, the most magnificent Cathedrale, and surrounding historic buildings. At the Rodin, there is a comfortable shared lounge, and quaint terrace at the entrance. The Hotel is newly refurbished to a high standard, Fenella and staff could not have been more helpful, she booked a table at the fabulous Indigo for us. For travellers, there is a laundrette right next to the Hotel. Easy parking is normally opposite the Hotel, Make time to visit La Cave, on the short walk to the Cathedrale. We have pleasure in recommending 100% the Rodin and its Owner.

Accommodating to a last minute change of room request the new owners were hospitable and generous with their home. The new pool was an excellent addition as was the new bedding that they have added. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The new owners recognise that the rooms need updating and plan to renovate, which I’m sure will add charm to this lovely chateau.

It’s location was idyllic if you simply wanted to get away from it all. The gite pretty much had everything you needed for your stay. Set in woodland and surrounding prairies, if you’re tired of city life, then this place is perfect. Only an hour away from some of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast, it offers a rural holiday and more. I wish I had more time to meet the horses and donkeys!! The host was extremely welcoming and very friendly.

Wonderful hosts, welcoming and helpful, providing a fantastic breakfast in our room. The house is delightful; the room was both a bedroom and sitting room. The bathroom modern and very well equipped. Bazas was a great stop-over on our way south, would absolutely stop with the family again.

An ancient home built in 1791, very well kept, with beautiful taste by the owner sweet Valérie … Valérie very kind and most respectable elegant lady who treated us so well ! During breakfast which was serve by the beautiful lady we exchanged info about the beautiful town of Bazas, France 🇫🇷 ... Le Clos de la Cathedrale only steps away from the The Cathedral dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the cathedral started built in 1233 , the side of the Cathedral can be seen from our window. The sunrise from our window was spectacular ! Petite Déjeneur was very good and enjoyed it very much served by Valérie itself …. Great place to stay while in Bazas . Next day we continue our journey from Bazas to Sauternes. If we ever go back to Bazas, we will stay at La Clos de la Cathedrale again ... Thanks Valérie for making our stay so pleasent !
