Lauren’s and Caroline were wonderful hosts. Kind and helpful and the two dinners Lauren’s cooked for us were exceptional Wonderful location in a peaceful rural setting close to all the places you want to visit Our room was spacious and charming, with views over the hills to Duras Very comfortable bed and our room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious Would highly recommend, we stayed three nights and we wish we could have stayed longer

Gîte la canopée is the perfect place for enjoying the tranquility of the French countryside whilst still being within 3km of the vibrant town of Duras with it’s many bars, restaurants, artisan crafts, a great night market. Château Duras is magnificent. The Gîte is very well equipped with every convenience. Fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard, including a very comfortable bed. There is a private terrace overlooking woodland which is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The pool is sublime and completely private, a real treat. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful without being at all intrusive. Sandra kindly arranged a ‘Degustation’ with her neighbouring winemaker which was very enjoyable and she had many suggestions for things to see and do in the region. We highly recommend this piece of paradise.
