Tatsuo sent instructions for check in arrival ahead of time and was present to greet us during check in. He was incredibly friendly and helpful in showing us the house and how to use/access amenities. The house was clean, thoughtfully appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay and generally very relaxing place to return home to after a long day of skiing. The beds were very comfortable and the house is in a great location close to many restaurants and shops. We enjoyed walking around the snowy streets of Higashikawa and had some great meals at places that Tatsuo recommended to us. When we left, Tatsuo even took a professional photo for us in his studio and printed/framed it for us to take with. Truly a great experience and we plan to book Fred House again if we make it back to Higashikawa.

Beautiful small home in a serene, picturesque location. We loved our stay at mizuki natural villa and really wished we had had more time here. Sanae was an excellent host, greeting us warmly and showing us around, making sure we had everything we needed. The loft itself is perfect - quite comfortable and well-appointed, with everything you might require. The steps up to the sleeping area are a bit steep so I’d caution anyone with mobility challenges, but otherwise no problem. We got used to them quickly, and loved the architectural charm that they add to the beautifully designed space. The town of Higashikawa is a few minutes away by car - we used the grocery store several times, and enjoyed dinner 2x at Kingbear Now. Loved the curries! We’d definitely recommend mizuki natural villa - it is so extremely clean and comfortable… you can’t go wrong.

As we drove in we were freaking out about the location and how beautiful it was. It is secluded in a really cool canyon with huge cliffs on both sides. The staff was literally a dream. We walked into the room and our jaws hit the floor! It was SO cool and clean and spacious. The food was AMAZING! The onsen was really hot but delightful. There is a really cool waterfall like .8 miles up the canyon you can snowshoe too. If you do not stay here at least a couple nights on your trip, you are missing out for sure. 20 min drive to Asahidake Ropeway. 30min drive to Higashikawa which has shops and restaurants.

    Great location (it’s just at the entrance of Asahidake); there’s a parking lot (drive way) in front of the house; The house is very well decorated and it gives a sense of well lived in it. Mika and Osamu San are both very nice and they are generous giving suggestions of what to do. They also have an onsite BBQ facility which you can request to use (extra charge) and it’s fantastic :)

    We had very large room-superior twin was really a suite with a balcony. The front desk man spoke some English and very nice. Food at buffets good with English name tags. Walked easily to ropeway. Next door to visitor center. Easy parking. All in all a great place to stay for visiting Asahidake.

    Allowed me to book on the day, staff were cool 😎 spoke good English and had good attitudes. Great communal space and comfortable beds. Amazing Onsen with outdoor area which was fantastic and I liked how it was kept open late. Kitchen clean and well equipped. Free parking was a nice bonus. Would certainly stay here again.
