Onsen is large clean and good quality amenity . Room are spacious with great view. Kaiseiki dinner and breakfasts are delicious with high quality raw material . Staff are polite and helpful . Recommend for all who want to slow down their pace for few days.

Hotel is very clean and staff was so helpful. Breakfast is amazing!

Very clean. And the management is very good. It’s a parking lot. So you don’t have to pay parking fee. It’s very good.

It was a beautiful spot in a quiet location, very clean & was close to the train station & supermarket

Shizukatei offers guests an unforgettable stay in rural Japan. Located about 7-8 km from Hiraizumi, the ryokan is surrounded by rolling forrested hills and rice paddies. Shizukatei grows much, if not all, of its veg served in the delicious kaiseki meals that they prepare with great care and with variations in the menu from day to day. Dinner is brought to your room, while breakfast is served in the dining room. The onsen has indoor and outdoor single sex baths. Our room did not have a shower, but its own toilet and sink. Showering was no problem in the onsen area. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful. They very kindly brought us to the Hiraizumi train station at the end of our two-day stay.

The host was very friendly and attentive. When we needed something, he provided prompt service. He even gave us a ride to the train station!

The location is very good, the hotel just beside the station within walking distance. The bus stand is very near, and restaurants are available near it.

Room was very clean and staff was helpful even though I don’t speak japanese

Hosts were a wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable.

It was my first time staying at a ryokan style guesthouse and I really enjoyed it. The room was spacious and comfortable, the shared bathroom was clean and orderly. Mayumi was so kind and very helpful with advice and recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was simple and convenient.. Breakfast is light, European: small salad, toasts, yogurts, coffee/tea. Clean. You can take a kettle and cups at the reception.
