This is without doubt the best hotel of my several weeks long trip to Norway and back again. I discovered it accidentally and at first just came to see the lighthouse and have a dinner. But spending some time there made me think that I actually want to return for a night at this place. And oh boy, it exceeded all my expectations! It was two orders of magnitude better than hotels twice the price. I'm not sure if I've ever met so friendly and helpful staff who really made the whole difference - it felt more like staying at a friend's place rather than at a hotel. The food was great, the bed - one of the best I've ever slept on. And it's a pity I had time only for one night, I already miss this place and want to come back. Oh, and of course - the location and the opportunity to climb up an operating lighthouse! Also, please, pretty please, make it possible to come there for the nothern lights!

Everything!!!! It was such an honor staying here and learning so much about Sámi culture and reindeer herding (opportunities and threats). Ellenor and her family are very warm and welcoming and the cabin was beautiful and very clean. Bed was made and awesome 😊. I greatly recommend and hopefully get a chance to visit again. Don't forget to take a look at the beautiful blankets Ellenor designed 😉.

I am so perplexed by how much I enjoyed this stay. The photos looked so unassuming and like it was a makeshift accommodation (sorry, Brakkebo team!). My room had stellar views and a family with a kid was put next door, which made me feel a bit concerned about noise. I NEVER HEARD A THING from my room. I was so shocked at how soundproof the units were. Everything was impeccably clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. I have stayed at thousands of places over the years, and this was one of my favorite stays due to the views and how friendly the woman working there was. Highly recommend staying here in Gamvik!
