Beautiful desert camp with fantastic rooms that were like independent little houses. Food was really good for dinner and then breakfast the following morning. We loved our desert tour and gazing up at the stars at night.

What should I write about this magical place on earth. A unique and magical experience. Besides the warm hospitality. Very clean, excellent service, excellent access, excellent facilities, location. Really a 10/10 A must on your Oman itinerary. Don't miss the sunrise over the dunes - truly a once in a lifetime experience. A+++++

Everything in this property is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail to ensure maximum comfort. The heated swimming pool is excellent, and our child had a wonderful time. The chalet is very well equipped with everything needed and even more — including toys for children, a PlayStation, a beautiful terrace with a view, and very comfortable furniture. The place is spotlessly clean and offers absolute comfort. A special thank you to the host, who is a true gentleman — always responsive, helpful with organizing tours and excursions, and incredibly attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised by the farewell gifts and the lovely tea hospitality. Truly outstanding service.

Great location, on the edge of the city, where the sands begin. The dunes behind the property are very nice to climb, there are camels and goats close to the house.

Without a doubt, an excellent option if you want a relaxed experience in the desert without the hustle and bustle of the bigger camps as the Aurora Desert Camp offers a gran total 3 elevated rooms. Khalid was a fenomenal guest. He has acquired a lot of experience before opening the Aurora. We had an amazing experience and wish we would have stayed 2 nights ! Detailed experience: - we arrived at the meeting point and Khaled was already waiting for us. We didn’t have a 4x4 so he came to pick us up - ⁠After an approx. 25 min drive to reach the camp, we were welcomed with traditional tea, coffee, sweets and fruits. - Khaled was very attentive and already asked us if we wanted to do some activities in the desert. We mentioned that we had seen that Camel racing is the number one sport in Oman. We were offered to attend a training the next morning (no race that day) - we really appreciated the flexibility and the willingness to make our experience unique as this is not an activity normally offered to guests - ⁠After enjoying the sunset, we enjoyed a really nice dinner with Khaled and the other guests - food was excellent! We then had a really nice evening sharing stories and watching the stars around a bonfire - ⁠The next morning, after a watching Camel racing training, we came back to the camp to enjoy a full breakfast - ⁠We then went on a desert Safari. We observed camels, birds, goats, discovered more about the desert and had the chance to spend time with a Bedouin family. This was not the typical touristic tour - we visited people Khaled personally knew, we didn’t rush as we would have with a tour guide. It was a nice moment to share, discover and enjoy - ⁠upon return to the camp, we packed our bags and Khaled drove us back to our car Regarding the rooms, they are spacious, comfortable and with their own bathroom; it really feels like a luxury to have electricity, water and even wifi in such a remote place!

A phenomenal stay at Atana Bidiyah private camp. Jassim and his crew know hospitality and will make your private desert stay a wonderful experience. You may believe this to be a once in a lifetime experience, but my heart is set on returning to the desert, to Bidiyah, and to Oman. The camp is the furthest one in the desert so we were very far from the town of Bidiyah and it’s light pollution- far enough away to see the beautiful night sky be-speckled with stars. The tent is well designed and faces east to capture the most beautiful sunrise you’ll ever see over the desert sand dunes. No match for what you’ll see on Dune or Tatooine. There were just a few tents at this camp making for a very private setting, with just a few friendly neighbors. The base of the camp is where we had meals. They prepared great dishes (buffet), and had vegetarian options too. After dinner, we sat outside with the few people at the camp and had some tea and conversation. There’s also an indoor swimming pool and sometimes there’s a fire at night. The camp also boasts eco tourism using solar cells and limits the use of plastics. It was very quiet (except for the winds). There’s a fully functioning open air, private, outdoor bathroom attached to our tent where you can shower under the stars. Keep in mind that you’ll be covered in a thin layer of sand and sometimes it gets very windy so some eye protection would’ve come in handy. Lastly, I highly recommend meeting the crew at the meeting point in Bidiyah and having them drive on the desert sand. Jassim picked us up, had great communication, and simply the most hospitable and nicest person you’ll ever meet. He stopped so we could say hi to the camels, take a few photos, and had a few laughs.
