From arrival to departure - the friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff impressed us. The beauty and comfort of the facility - right in the heart of Stone Town - is just amazing and so highlights the contrasts so ever present in Zanzibar. The exceptional service throughout all three restaurants - the food - the view from the rooftop - all just an amazing experience. The proximity to other attractions - inclusive of the beach - just great.

My stay at Shanayah House was wonderful and made my time in Zanzibar very comfortable. The location is great, with easy access to restaurants, tourist sites, and other attractions, while still being far enough away from the noise to feel peaceful and relaxing. The host was amazing, regularly checking in and making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend Shanayah House to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

I had such a wonderful stay at this homestay. The room was large, clean and had a lot of natural sunlight. The feeling of the accommodation is very peaceful which was really nice to come back to after busy days sightseeing. The bed was super comfy also. Veronica and Gintaras are both so kind and warm. I really enjoyed interacting with them both throughout my stay and they did everything to make my stay comfortable and easy. They did little things that went above and beyond like bringing me fruit by the pool while I was swimming, helping me schedule transport around the island or just having friendly conversation throughout the day. They are great hosts and I would definitely stay again during my next visit to Zanzibar. The accommodation is especially good for those with early morning or late night flights as it’s just a quick 15 minute drive to the airport. It was a great choice for me as a solo female budget traveler as well. I felt looked after and for a great price as well. Asante sana Veronica and Gintaras!

We didn’t spend much time at the apartment as we booked it to be close to the airport due to an early flight. That said, the place is in a great location, has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the staff that greeted us was lovely! We were even provided a snack and some delicious hot tea upon arrival. The owner was incredibly hospitable and made sure we are set up for our short stay and even made sure we had back up transportation to the airport “just in case”. Great communication all around and a lovely property. Thank you for taking such good care of us :)

Great location, clean, and with a friendly, helpful staff. The hotel has a very authentic atmosphere—I felt like I was in an Agatha Christie novel!
