I recently stayed at this charming hostel run by an incredibly friendly and helpful host family. Despite being close the main Street, the hostel offered a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The free breakfast had different options and was good as well. Additionally, being just steps away from the Son River allowed for picturesque strolls along its banks. What truly made my experience unforgettable was the unexpected invitation to join the host family for lunch. Sitting down with them, I was welcomed with open arms and treated to a delicious meal, giving me a glimpse into local hospitality and culture. It was an authentic and heartwarming experience that I will cherish forever. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel for its warm hospitality, comfortable accommodations, breathtaking views, and convenient location. It's the perfect choice for travelers seeking a memorable and immersive experience in this beautiful destination.

the location, right by the river. the host was amazing, she doesn't stop. Very helpful and friendly and I like that it's a family-run business. Family dinner was great!

To say that the host is helpful is not enough. She's managed everything for us, from pickup, through dining and cave excursions to cruise booking. If something was not available, she would just hop on the bike and get it. Friendly, family atmosphere.

I enjoyed everything.It has to be the Premium Location in Phong Nha.Amazing View.Close but also far away enough from Town Centre.Breakfast was basic but so tasty.I found it incredible value for $$.Staff were very pleasant and helpful.Especially Yen who had good English and was so helpful with my day tour and Sleeper Bus Bookings.It was without doubt my favourite place so far in Vietnam and I will come back to relax for 3-4 nights in the Future.I’d say don’t miss Phong Nha on your Vietnam Holiday and definitely stay at Areca Bungalows.. Great stay! I checked in at 4AM after the Ninh Binh bus no problem. The dorm and the whole facility were sparkling clean. Rooms were quiet — I slept like a rock. The bathrooms were large! Hot hot shower. The pool and the atmosphere of the whole place was great. Location was a short walk from town. As a host, Du was communicative well before my stay, and he was super helpful for any questions I had. The whole family really cares about your stay and were so kind and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again!

Great location, Binh was so helpful and organised all our transport, cave tours and had great advice about what to do in the area. Very big rooms and pool. Very friendly family. Great food and cheap beer!

We arrived in the middle of the night and the familt prepared a bed for us to stay in the living room until our room was ready (check in was at 11:00). The father even picked us from the bus drop off pointed and helped us bring a fellow female traveller to her destination so she did not have to stay in town alone at 3 AM
