The family was very nice and sweet. I felt very welcome. On my first night, in addition to having my room upgraded, they invited me to bake sweet potatoes on the fireplace. It was surreal, such hospitality and kindness are rare to find. The kids and the dog were adorable, too. The homestay is very spacious, high ceiling, and very modern, minimalistic fengshue'ish decor. The room is very clean and comfy. The home is located on the citadel, near the main monument. It is also far from noisy tourists and karaoke bars.I loved the fact that it's a non tourist area because I had the chance to interact with the real Vietnamese people who were kind and smiling, and the small kids waving and saying hello, was heart melting. . I had a great time experiencing their culture and their foods, and the pleasure to eat the most delicious street foods on the area; the bun bo hue soup just outside the home, the ice ka- phe and the fried bananas were simply divine.
