The homestay is quiet which is nice. It’s also easy to organise the bromo hike and other tours from here. Nice quiet location not too far from town, a quick grab ride. The rooms were very clean and the shower is nice and hot with great water pressure.

Accommodation is great value. Property, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were super clean. Bed and AC were comfortable. We booked the Ijen tour with the host Johan and had a great experience. Price seemed fair. We got helpful recommendations from Johan's nephew for local spots. Johan offers other tours we wished we could have taken advantage of (but we had to move on to our next destination). We'd stay here again!

The owners were very accommodating and helpful with everything, helped us arrange tours of ijen, transport for when we got to Bali, transport around where we stayed, food made fresh in house and very tasty, would definitely recommend.

Crazy to think that I woke up to the gentle sound of birds chirping and river flowing. The views I enjoyed from my bed were surreal. My tent was comfortable and had all the things I needed. Alas Restaurant was superb: food excellent, the views unbeatable. Truly a great experience!

He told us of all the options to visit Mount Bromo (one could book the tour directly via the owner) and we ended up staying at Brak for 2 nights and doing the Mt Bromo trip directly from Probolinggo. We pre-ordered a Gojek (like Grab) at 2 am for 250k, the driver drove us to Cemorolawang, we did the hike and everything, had breakfast in Cemorolawang, then came back to Probolinggo. We can back with the same driver, but one can easily also use the shared minivans, it is easy to get from Cemorolawang to Probolinggo during the day. When we came back, the owner greeted us with tea and we had a good rest. Doing Mt. Bromo from Probolinggo is easy and less tiresome, we’re happy we chose this way! I can only recommend this guesthouse, this was Indonesian hospitality at its best that we experienced.
