Featuring mountain views and a garden, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou offers accommodation attractively situated in Nakatsugawa, within a short distance of Toson Memorial Museum, Magome Wakihonjin... Extraordinary settings, it was the most unusual place we stayed during our trip throughout Japan. The rooms were clean and had everything you need, the beds in the shared rooms were surprisingly spacious and the staff was very kind and attentive.

Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. The friendly staff, the room had a full kitchen and a washer/drier. :-) The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and user friendly. Positioned outside the station the hotel was very convenient for sightseeing.

Had so much fun here - not your typical European hotel experience - you get various clothing options, it’s no shoes allowed and there is a great onsen. Food is great

Conveniently situated in the centre of Takayama, HOTEL WOOD TAKAYAMA provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. I love everything about the property. The location, the staff, the amenities. The hotel is within the Old Town and nearby shops and restaurants. I like that they have the lounge for guests where you can have unlimited drinks - sake, beer, cafe etc

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. The staff was both welcoming and helpful. The receptionist even assisted us in calling a restaurant to help us make a reservation. Entertainment on site was diverse and fun (gaming console / books etc). The kitchen is well equipped and offers free coffee and tea.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. The place is absolutely beautiful. By far one of the nicest hotels I've been in. Every detail is well thought of, and the location near Takayama Old city is great.

Oyado Koto No Yume er í aðeins 2 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Takayama-stöð og býður upp á litrík herbergi í japönskum stíl. Lovely, welcoming and cosy. The common area in the lobby was a great addition to sit and read, play games, chat etc and they loan foot massage machines and aromatherapy oil burners from here too. Great having the public onsen too.
