Featuring mountain views and a garden, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou offers accommodation attractively situated in Nakatsugawa, within a short distance of Toson Memorial Museum, Magome Wakihonjin... The staff was welcoming and everything in the room was perfect. The structure is an old school with a gym where you can actually play basketball and ping pong. There is also some dinner option to purchase if you forgot to take something with you.

Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. Big room, almost an apartment with laundry machine. Next to the station and walking distance to centre. Very helpful staff!

Onyado Yuinosho býður upp á gufubað og ókeypis einkabílastæði og er í innan við 45 km fjarlægð frá Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village og 46 km frá Takayama-stöðinni. Experiencing a Ryokan was amazing and Onyado Yuinosho is the perfect place for it, the staff is incredibly nice and accomodating, the food is incredible, the rooms and facilities are so fancy and pretty and atmosphere is so relaxed and cozy! They give you all sorts of amenities, they have free ramen at night, coffee, yogurt drinks and they even leave local candy to try inside the room! They also have vending machines for soft drinks/coffee/tea and alcohol! The meals they serve are extremely tasty and fancy with beautiful window views of the mountains! The private onsen rooms are beatiful and relaxing! The two nights we spent there were the highlight of our trip! Absolutely must recommend this place if you plan to visit Shirakawa-go!

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Lovely staff and very clean property. We stayed in the dorm room and it was spacious and the facilities were all very well kept. Quick walk to the train/bus station and lots of restaurants and shop also a short walk away

The room was very spacious, the breakfast delicious, the onsen beautiful and the staff very welcoming! Loved it here!

Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. The breakfast & dinner are served in the restaurant with a magnificent view of the surrounding adding a superb experience to the dining. Food is excellent. The private onsen in the Annex is also excellent & we loved to bath in both the private & public onsens. In addition, for non-Japanese speaking tourists, the ability to talk in English is definitely the best among all the hotels/ resorts I have been in Japan.
