Featuring mountain views and a garden, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou offers accommodation attractively situated in Nakatsugawa, within a short distance of Toson Memorial Museum, Magome Wakihonjin... The place was super nice! We loved that school atmosphere. During that time there were actually some students who came for the trip, even though they were really quiet. We stayed in the dormitory and the beds were pretty big, toilets were super clean, there are also additional blankets just in case you are cold at night (but it was pretty warm).

Loved the Interior design of the Hotel, all wood works. Very nice spacious room, comfy beds, great hot shower and the usual kettle with their drip coffee pads. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer blue Jakata PJ's which I used to go up to the Onsen. The onsen on the roof is very nice and modern, but has no city view. I would certainly recommend this hotel!

Convenience store close by and the old town was in walking distance. The room size was decent for a Japanese hotels and the Onsen bath on the top floor including the sauna was really nice - it has a shared relaxing area as well.

We had such a huge room for 3 of us, with a living area. The hotel had a public onsen, which was very nice. Also the location was superb! So close to the bus station and train station! Very clean, superb quality, nice personnel.

Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. This is literally the best staying ever. I traveled everywhere, a lot in 5 stars hotels, but this hotel beats them all. The place is clean, the amenities is amazing, especially there is a washing machine in your room with detergents. The room is HUGE for Japan's standard. It's one bedroom apartment style. Location is top notch, just few steps from Takayama Train and Bus Station. And it's cheap!! Love the place so much!

Onyado Yuinosho býður upp á gufubað og ókeypis einkabílastæði og er í innan við 45 km fjarlægð frá Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village og 46 km frá Takayama-stöðinni. Everything was fine :) The personel was kind and helpful. The view from the room and from private onsen was really pretty.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Takayama, HOTEL WOOD TAKAYAMA provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Welcoming and friendly staff with good command of English Free flow drinks (5pm onwards) was a nice touch Convenient location and walkable from the train/bus station and major attractions Clean room and well equipped amenities Hotel fulfilled request for a quiet room on the upper floor.

600 metres from Shirakawago, Shirakawago Guest House Kei is set in Shirakawa and offers rooms with free WiFi. All rooms feature a kitchen and a shared bathroom. The host is very accommodating, friendly, helpful, and chill. There is a free pickup from the station to the guest house, which was very convenient. The host can also speak English. Our trip became memorable at Guest House Kei because the host was very supportive. We truly enjoyed our stay, even though it was only for one day. We highly recommend this guest house.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. The place is very cozy, the common area is spacious and there's a lot of things to do. Very convenient place for the spots around, near the station. They waited for our arrival at 1 am after there was an accident with the trains. They even let us leave our luggage after checkout for 2 nights while we went to Shirakawa-go.

We just love this place ! Beautiful and best service ! We have one of the bigger room , very comfortable tatami futon bed and both breakfast & dinner were outstanding ! Hope to return one day !
