The room and beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. But the reason to come here is the host Yuki-San! He was not only the best host we’ve had in Japan, but the best host we’ve ever had anywhere. His English is excellent and he has a lot of knowledge and curiosity, all making it a pleasure to speak with him. He also knows a lot about the Island so you really get to understand and experience life here. He is truly a one of a kind person (and also a great cook).

It was a very japanese and fantastic stay. Friendly staff und guests. Very respectful and considerate. I also liked the style of the hostel. Well equipped. I had a dorm japanese style to share with two others and it was very comfortable. Be aware: It is a quiet hostel so many lights turned of at 9 pm, officially it is 10 pm. Do not come for party!

Exceptional service from the staff. Upon arrival the hotel arranged pick up from the airport - if you’re coming by ferry, it is probably not necessary as they’re directly next door (very convenient). I also appreciated the information on climbing Mt Rishiri from the very helpful lady at front desk (who also spoke fluent English). She gave us helpful tips and even arranged a bento breakfast for us to take to the mountain. The hotel arranged the transport both to and from the trailhead as well.

Beautiful room. Excellent location. Short walk to the Ferry and short walk to the onsen up the hill. The tatami mats with futon cushion makes for a firm bed! This is exactly what one should expect from a traditional Japanese room. Not a negative, just good to understand beforehand for westerners.
