The staff were so accommodating and friendly for our entire stay. They always welcomed us back from our excursions or just afternoons out on the beach and always wanted to know what we had done that day. The food was immaculate and we ended up eating at the hotel every night so we could keep trying things off the menu. The rooftop dining area is especially lovely, it’s nice to be able to see the stars during the evening. The excursions team were absolutely incredible. We saw dolphins, turtles, various reefs and had an unforgettable experience swimming with manta rays. The team were also incredibly generous and allowed us to join two additional manta ray and whale shark trips for no additional cost after we had not seen them initially. The boat was well equipped and the team were incredibly focussed on guest safety in the water as well as enjoyment. Another key thing that we applaud the excursions team on is ensuring the safety and well being of the wild animals we saw whilst out on the sea. The boat engine was immediately turned off as soon as we saw dolphins and they kept a good distance away instead of chasing and harassing the animals. Additionally, prior to one of our whale shark tours we were briefed on how to swim with the animal safely and were reminded that if anyone tried to touch or swim to close to the animal they would be removed from the water. As someone who works in marine animal conservation, I applaud the team at Whale Shark Beach for putting the animals first and ensuring that both them and the guests could have a safe and enjoyable experience. The room was lovely. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’d ever slept in and very spacious. The television also had smart options available to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime which was a big bonus.

We couldn't have chosen a better place. The hotel is incredibly beautiful, the room is super comfortable (especially the bed) and has everything needed, and the breakfast is delicious. But especially, the staff is lovely; they help you in every way possible always with a smile and make you feel at home. It's a very relaxing atmosphere with silence and background music. We are really happy to have chosen them and would repeat with no doubt. A million thanks again for everything!!

The owner (Mohamed) is an amazing person, he is very kind, he helped us with everything. He was waiting for us at the Thoddoo port when we arrived and he also offered us bikes to go on the island (for free). The food was great, he was always making sure we had everything we needed. He also provided transportation back to port when we left and packed us breakfast for a 6AM departure. Definitely recommending this place. The room very clean and nice and the bathroom is also new, very clean and modern ❤️ It was a great stay.

If you plan on staying in Thoddoo, I definitely recommend Chillax. The hotel is situated in the center of the island with a 15 minute walk to either of the two Bikini beaches. The rooms are cleaned everyday, fresh towels and bedsheets are provided every 2-3 days. The staff is friendly and ready to help if you need anything (you can borrow bicycles, snorkeling equipment, beach towels). Food was delicious but be sure to be at breakfast/lunch/dinner on time because it disappears fast :D We had a great vacation here.

While planning our Maldives vacation, we have done an extensive research on islands around Male city and their properties and perceived Fairytale Inn to be the most promising. Our efforts in reality were rewarded with such great gifts like beauty, style, tranquility, character and joy. The owner has a blend of very professional and nice ethics while her assistant Nani is the gem of our experience with smile, care, cooking, availability and support. The room has such positive vibe while the terrace is providing a true jungle stay experience. Without any creatures though. Breakfast was amazing, and dinner the best on Thoddoo. Cute beach is about 4min walk, while the big paradise beach can be reached in 3 ways, 15min walk, 5min bicycle ride or via a 3$ transport. Free filtered water included, as well as toilet amenities, snorkeling equipment and free bicycles. Transport to and from the ferry port complimentary. One of the top 3 accommodation experiences of my life (and I travelled a lot). Already planning to stay there again next year. The stuff has totally spoiled us.
