My first stay in a tent, and boy, what a place I chose for it! Slept in a real bed, and very comforting at that. Everything was clean and neat but I am by far impressed by the staff - so friendly and helpful!

Surrounded by forest and located right in front of Puerto Cayo’s beach, Tanusas Retreat & Spa features a spa, a swimming pool, and a restaurant. Breakfast is included.

Amazing place! Everything is super clean and cozy, with great attention to detail. The hot water is actually hot, and the Wi-Fi works perfectly. It’s even more beautiful than in the photos! 🌿 The location is peaceful and away from the noise of Machalilla — perfect for relaxing. The staff also helped me organize excursions, which made my stay even better. I work 24/7, so it was really important for me to be somewhere quiet, with an ocean view and kind, attentive people and this place was just perfect for that. They offer a delicious breakfast menu with traditional dishes, and you can also order lunch and dinner. Plus, it’s super pet-friendly 🐾 my dog felt completely at home. Highly recommended, and I’d definitely love to come back!

Great value, lovely people. The location is only a short walk to the beach restaurants and much quieter than the beach locations. The pool is off the charts lovely, and the breakfasts by the pool are excellent. They neighborhood may spook some because it's not rich, but it's a very short walk to the waterfront and the neighbors are great. I felt safe. Good wifi, AC works, hot water talks a while, so be patient, but it's hot. It is pet friendly, so sometimes there's a yappy dog, and the roosters nearby will wake you. The value here is better than anything in Puerto Lopez. The pool area alone is worth it. We watched the swallows swoop in to grab a drink from the pool and eventually had to rescue one who made a bad pass on the way down. Made us feel like we helped the universe. This is a great find.

Absolutely beautiful, private cabin in a lush garden setting. Clean pool, right across from a quiet stretch of beach. Hammocks on my private pouch. 15 min walk to town, and the Pier, where you can go to Isla del La Mar. Close to several other stunning beaches. The keys are a little tricky and I locked myself in, and out. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast, but only 3 choices. Small snacks and a limited menu available. Very good restaurant right next door. I stayed in the “seahorse”, and it was very quiet.

Located right in front of the waterfront in Puerto Lopez, Victor Hugo has comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi. Salango Beach is 3.1 mi away.

I like everything about the Víctor Hugo hotel. I have stayed there many times. The owner and staff are always very nice. Parking is inside a locked gate, so it’s safe and secure. They have a pool table and give yoga classes and have excellent food. They are right on the beach. The rooms are air-conditioned, spacious and never mwith a little balconies. I love the dog energy and the mosaics and I always find something new and interesting. whenever I go there.

This cute little boutique was perfect ! Less than a block walk to the beach . Kid friendly it felt super comfortable it was not packed at all we actually had the pool/bar to ourselves for the most part. The breakfast options were great as well as the room set up . Staff made us feel very welcomed! I will definitely be booking again
