Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Shela

I'd like the facility to have a microwave that I can use without bothering the staff when I carry take outs

The house is wonderful, spacious, luxury and quiet. Bassam is a great host and the staff are excellent too. We had a great time exploring from here or just enjoying doing nothing much at all. It is a bit outside Shela, but not that far and a nice village walk.

Nyama is a great host and the hotel management was very good with communication about how to reach the house. They also arranged for me the transportation from the airport jetty to Shela.

Located on the top floor of a house in Shela, the balcony has a view of the ocean and the apartment, including the room and bathroom were spotless. The apartment has the local arquitectual charm, and you are minutes away from restaurants and cafes of the town. Abdul Aziz was a kind and welcoming host. In the afternoon and evening we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and taking in the relaxing atmosphere of the town. It was quite hot and humid, so it was nice to have air conditioning. The people in Shela are welcoming and would greet us as they passed us in the alleys.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home ! We loved the view of the sand dunes, located in a safe neighborhood and 1-2 minutes walk to the restaurants in Shela and oceanfront! The house manager cooked us such tasty Swahili dishes at our request. We’ll definitely be back again! Thank you to the team that made our stay wholesome!

The Peponi Hotel is really lovely. The food is great, and the staff was very attentive. I would highly recommend it.

Everything about Madakani was a dream. The building is a cool retreat from the hot mid-day sun: cool breezes, a lush interior garden, and so many lounges including many on a rooftop with a view. Great breakfast cooked to order, comfy bed, lots of fans and communal space, and a welcoming location to arrive. If you stay in Shela, you'll want to stay here.

Everything! It is such a lovely place that will make your stay in Shela a beautiful memory. Super cozy, spacious, full of light, with all amenities, drinking water, non stop electricity even during power cuts, great ventilation, chilled vibe and above all a constant support by Chris and Reuben, who have been great in all terms and made us feel like home. I loved that the house blends so naturally with its surroundings and feels genuinely comfortable. It made it so easy to imagine how life must have been, and still is, for the locals. Highly recommend it.
