A very fun place, you can tell just how much energy went into the design and overall experience. Excellent hospitality. A young man at the front desk was very helpful in directing us toward art in the city. The room also came with a flotation device for swimming in the river and tickets for discounted public transport.

Situated in a great spot with a view of the Spalentor gate. Cozy hotel with fantastic staff, Vivienne and Cecile were so hospitable, sweet and helpful. We had a wonderful time in Basel and the attitude of the staff and hotel hospitality contributed to this. We got engaged on our last night and the girls surprised us with Prosecco and room decor. It was a lovely surprise and a memory we will cherish. We will definitely be staying again!!

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. We had such a wonderful stay! The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was spotless and well-organised. We loved the coffee machine, the fan, and the radio, not to mention the fantastic shower. They even welcomed us with complimentary drinks! We wouldn't think twice about staying here again. The location is perfect—just a quick 10-minute walk from bus 50 from the airport, or you can take bus 30 from the station, which is really close to the bus stop. Plus, there's a lovely garden where you can relax after a day of exploring. I highly recommend buying a dry bag to join the locals swimming along the Rhine and soaking up the summer sun. It's such a fun way to enjoy the area!
