The staff is kind and willing to help us. At check in we had a problem with the price because the booking showed a different price and at the hotel they asked us for extra money but luckily the hotel manager came and we paid what the application said. A very kind gentleman and smiling. At breakfast there was an abundance of food, juices and coffees. The rooms were extremely clean and every two days we had new towels. From my room I had a view of the street and the mountain of Quito. I would definitely stay there again!!

The hotel is in a great location close to plaza Independencia and the Basilica and churches as well as restaurants. The rooms are simply decorated, which we like, and are spacious and well equipped. We found the beds very comfortable and they readily supplied us with extra blankets and a heater since we were there during a Rainy cold spell. It has a lovely courtyard, a library of Spanish books which I appreciated to help practice reading Spanish and an inside balcony to sit in the sun. But the best part are the proprietors and helper. Maria who manages the place is a gem! She was warm and helpful and even invited us to join her and her husband and son to participate in the Dia del Muertos festivities, which was fascinating. Lenny, her husband, explained what was going on to us in English. It was authentic and kind to include us as friends. Lenny also was our driver and guide to Cotopaxi and another day when we went to Mindo. Their helper, Matty, was lovely too - Just so joyful! - and she helped me with my Spanish. We stayed there a total of 5 days. Two nights before the Galapagos and three nights after. We felt like we made new friends and were sad to leave them!

Hostal Doña Clarita & Vegetaríanía Food er nýlega enduruppgerð heimagisting í Chugchilán, þar sem gestir geta nýtt sér bað undir berum himni og garð. A nice and friendly family running this hostal with a lot of love. Our room was amazing, the bath and shower top! The WiFi was good enough and the food was excellent. Free banana bread, tea, coffee and water made it just perfect. Go here and not in the overhyped cloud forest.
