The balcony overlooking the islands and facing the sunset, along with the huge window in the room, brought nature and the stunning scenery right inside, allowing me to enjoy the environment even when indoors. The room itself was spacious, minimalist, and beautiful. Everything was clean, the water was hot, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Beyond all the comfort of the facilities themselves, I want to praise the hostel owner who was kind and pleasant, available on WhatsApp for any questions or issues, and happy to help with recommendations for trips in the area. You can also rent bicycles through her for exploring the islands - definitely a recommended experience!

Located 8 km from World Heritage Wat Phou, La Folie Lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Mekong River. The property is located in the Don Daeng island and the hotel picked us up by boat in Champasak in front of the island. We absolutely loved the rides on that small boat across the Mekong River and the views from the hotel. The swimming pool is beautiful and we were very happy to support a hotel with such sustainability and community support standards.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, and I had my own private bathroom. I felt comfortable staying with Nicolas and his family. What makes this homestay truly special is Nicolas deep local knowledge. He knows Pakse, the Bolaven Loop and Champasak extremely well and shared countless tips, including non-touristic places and his own custom maps. This was a huge advantage for my travels and something you rarely find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place with a personal touch and genuinely helpful local insights, I can highly recommend this homestay.

Mayroon ang Don Falang Homestay- Private Island & Beach ng hardin, private beach area, shared lounge, at terrace sa Don Det. Alex and Laymon were the perfect hosts. Kind and helpful, and so so welcoming. We arrived as customers, and left feeling like we were old friends.

Of the area it was to us the best — a pristine pool and a nice shaded area on the river for watching the sunset. Breakfasts were generous and the staff super helpful (with excellent English). We walked to the two different waterfalls on different days, and it’s easy to pop over the bridge to Don Det. Lots of restaurants in the area, too. Dry relaxing

Sunset side. Close to everything but still private. Laundry and bike rentals right there. Go eat at tevendang restaurant. On other side on the way to the bridge. Her food and kindness are amazing.

Very quiet and clean hostel. I have stayed only one night in preparation for the loop and I have slept very well. The beds are very confortable. After the loop they also let me use the shower and relax in the common area before taking a night bus.
