The team made our stay unforgettable a huge thank you to Chef Dilshan for the most amazing meals of our trip (especially the rice & curry), and to Dinuka and Lakmal, who looked after us with such warmth and professionalism. We also enjoyed a wonderful private garden tour and a fantastic day trip to the Knuckles Mountains with Bandar, arranged by the hotel. If you want a place that’s authentic, quiet, beautifully renovated and full of heart don’t miss Coldagh Manor. It’s a true hidden gem and deserves to be fully booked.

A lot of space to chill and to see the monkeys from the porch. Sameera, the house keep is super nice and friendly. He brought me in town with his own Tuk Tuk to grab some food and didn't want to charge me. If you stop for a night near Matale, this is a great place to unwind.

He is a safe driver who showed me many places per day in his comfortable car and she cooked fantastic meals for me with fresh herbs and spices out of their own ‘jungle’. They are a lovely and honest family, the best hosts during my world-travel :-) Also: the place is a gem in the mountains, beautiful decorated and with a clean pool. I felt really at home here.

What a beautiful quest house. It is set away from the busy main road and very peaceful. There is a restaurant, which we did not use, so I can't comment, but there was no noise, apart from some soft music,which was quite nice and chilled. The room was very clean, with clean bedding and towels. Staff were very helpful and Friendly. Loved this Lodge. I could have stayed longer just to enjoy the peacefulness. As we are travelling by bicycle, our bikes were very secure for the night.

The hotel owner arranged a delightful village tour for us, allowing us to meet local villagers and engage with their community. They also kindly organized a complimentary lunch for us (which we gladly paid for), adding to the authentic experience. The journey to the villa involved a scenic mountain river crossing, where we enjoyed a cool bath in the evening — a refreshing highlight. In the evening, the caretaker, Diviya, thoughtfully arranged a small campfire and BBQ dinner, creating a cozy and memorable atmosphere. Our rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect base to relax and connect with nature. If you're looking to immerse yourself in the serenity of nature, I highly recommend Riverston Nature Villa. It’s the ideal place for anyone seeking peace, adventure, and authentic local experiences in the Knuckles region.
