The apartment was perfect, exactly what you see in the pictures, and it had everything you'd need for a comfortable stay! The pizza oven was such a wonderful feature, we loved making our own pizzas for the very first time, the hosts also have equipped guests with all the necessary information regarding check in and how to use the equipment as well as things to do around the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our staycation and would definitely be back again.

Flitwick Ranch features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Swartberg. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. Gosh where to start? Our stay was sublime. We stayed in one of the Bull Stables cottages and it was perfect. It's not a self-catering unit, so bear that in mind, however, there are facilities on the property where you can cook. Everything from the bedding to the soap was chosen with care, even had some fresh flowers in the room. The property is incredibly beautiful and while we were there during the wettest, muddiest weather, we could tell that they took great care in providing a well-rounded experience for guests. Now the food. Jurie, the chef and his helper, painstakingly prepare each dish. We had oxtail, bobotie, spaghetti bolognese, and breakfast. Every dish was hot and delicious.

Situated in Nottingham Road and only 21 km from Fort Nottingham Museum, Springvale Farm features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This was an unexpected stay in the area after car troubles but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We stumbled on this farm in a panicky effort to find pet-friendly accommodation and I still can't believe our good fortune. The farm, and everyone on it, are fantastic. We were looking for a room for 1 night and ended up staying a lot longer. The cottages are incredibly comfortable, spacious, spotless, thoughtfully decorated and well kitted out in all rooms - the electric blankets, log fires, hot tub and freshly baked bread were amazing! There is plenty of space for the family, friends and furbabies. The setting is pretty spectacular - what a beautiful part of the world - and there are plenty of things to do within the property including fishing, hiking and birdwatching. Take the time to find the cranes, they're beautiful! A very big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our stay so special. Deborah, in particular, was fantastic and really saved the day, I cannot speak highly enough of her and everything she has done for us - it is so encouraging to know that there are such kind people in this world, who will drop everything to come and rescue complete strangers. Do yourself a favour and book one of the cottages, it is 100% worth it!!

The Bunker is set in Champagne Valley and offers barbecue facilities and a terrace. This holiday home has a garden and free private parking. Super convenient location and incredibly private. Wonderful views of the mountains. Unit is exceptionally spacious and excellent value for the money. We are already recommending The Bunker to our friends for any trips they may be considering to Drakensberg. Jo is very thoughtful and communication was excellent in all respects. Would book again without hesitation.

Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. We loved the spaciousness of the unit and the fact that it was pet friendly. The yards are also very spacious. We also enjoyed being off the grid and not experiencing loadshedding.

Beverley Country Cottages is set in Dargle within the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, 50 km from Pietermaritzburg. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Lovely large room in old farm house with great bathroom. Tons of atmosphere with beautiful farm surroundings. Were served a delcious homecooked dinner and breakfast in front of the fireplace by very friendly and profocient staff. Highly recommended.
