We had an awesome one night stay in Muara, so we can go and see dolphins in the morning. Soraya and her family was very welcoming. We felt like at home with homemade Balinese food and amazing service. It’s just at the seaside, with small beach just behind the fence. The pool there is perfect for hot days. Rooms were clean and spacious. We also had amazing Balinese massages from Juli. She’s an expert!!

The best thing was - the view from villa. Villa located in middle of rice fields, so you can enjoy beautiful view straight from your villa, or even from the pool. The entire area surrounding the villa complex was beautifully maintained, with stunning gardens and landscaping throughout. Place itself is located on the corner of small town / village, so you can expect of having relaxing time, without any hustle n bustle. Place owns a restaurant which is comfortable. As well you can rent a scooter from villa, which is very convenient if you want to travel around.

This was by far the cleanest place I’ve stayed in Bali. They were truly a saving grace! I had to leave my previous hotel after just one night due to mold, ants (even in the bed), and overall dirtiness. They took me in immediately, and the moment I walked into the room, I could actually smell how clean it was. Everything was spotless and clearly well cared for. The bed was super comfortable, and every staff member was so warm and genuinely willing to do anything to make sure my stay was pleasant. I only wish I had found them sooner!

The staff could not be kinder and more helpful with anything you ask. The pool was nice and clean. The room was super clean, not dark (like so many traditionally constructed homestays), large, and spacious. The place looked new, and everything worked in it. Breakfast was simple but nice with eggs or pancakes, hot beverages, and a plate of fresh fruit. Location was absolutely the best for nearby restaurants and the beach. 2nd floor rooms had nice views of the sunset (rooms 3 & 4). Great value! Call to Prayer Volume: Very Low.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Aroma Villa in Munduk, Bali. Our hosts, Wayan and his wife Nomen, were incredibly gracious and generous with their time. The villa itself was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The picture just don't do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that our breakfast and dinner meals were included, and we were thrilled with the delicious meals Nomen prepared for us. Wayan went above and beyond, offering personalized suggestions for our daily activities and often driving us to our destinations himself. He even accompanied us on walks to two stunning waterfalls and provided personal tours of a local family-owned rice paddy on two separate days. The natural beauty of the region cannot be overstated, and the unexpected kindness of the local people left a lasting impression. We left with a deep appreciation for Munduk and its residents. Munduk itself is a fantastic escape from the crowds, nowhere nearly as inundated with tourists as many other areas of Bali. We wholeheartedly recommend Aroma Villa in Munduk

We wanted a cultural experience and this was perfect. The place is situated in the middle of a rice paddy in rural Bali. Many waterfalls close by and a small village within walking distance. Staff and food was excellent. Great place to chill.

Where to start. From the moment you arrive, Leia, the owner, is such an amazing host. She tells you all the right places to eat, sites to see, how to get around, and even knows the weather better than the weather radar! She will also make bookings for you, ensuring a seamless experience for your stay from a local. Another thing that blows you away on first impression is the view that you get from every inch of the property. Wow! Lush green rainforest draping the hillside below you out to the quaint little town of Lovina below and out to the spectacular calm blue ocean. We also loved the super cute and friendly cats and dogs on the property, all with their own unique little personalities, coming to greet us every time we came back through the gate. The communal eating area was fantastic, a nice long outdoor table with a cool breeze and a million-dollar view. The food cooked up by in-house chef Lilu was fantastic. Pro tip: try the Beef Rendang, a very generous portion that still left me yearning for more as it was so tasty. The room was huge and clean with everything one wants. Such a comfortable bed that I had to pull myself away from it to actually do things like swim in the pool or head down the hill to town at Lovina (a short 10 to 15 minute trip on our scooters). The bathroom was amazing too, with a nice big shower and glorious hot water. The pool is very well designed as an infinity pool to take in the view, and there are several sitting ledges and standing platforms to take in the view. We were lucky enough that Steve was also at the villa as well, and he explained the Singaporean influence of the building design, which became apparent and very well done once he mentioned it. Leia has taken great pride in her gardens, which shows and makes for a truly tranquil atmosphere when relaxing around the villa by day or night. I could not recommend a stay at Villa Mata Hari more; this is the only place I will stay from now on when visiting the north of Bali.
