As Americans, the food options were a bit of a challenge but the things we ate were delicious. We are not big on the local cuisine options but easily found things at the dinner and breakfast buffets that were satisfying. The pool is really different and amazing. The staff is helpful and attentive. Plenty of english speakers to assist us with whatever we needed. The room was great and the bathroom was huge but we paid extra for a suite.

Tugu Malang is, without doubt, my most favourite hotel in the world. The service was exemplary, the room superb, the restaurants were affordable, the complementary afternoon tea was wonderful, breakfasts were generous, the pool was perfect, fresh flower arrangements were replenished each day and the ambiance was extraordinary. I can’t recommend The Tugu enough. Well located, close to the train station, CBD and local attractions….. I could continue but you probably have the picture by now…. Perfection.

This is the cleanest hostel I have been in for the past 1.5 months around South East Asia. The pool is beautiful and clean, and the picnic tables in the common area are very cute. Every single person working there is extremely nice and welcoming. There are two 24/7 mini marts just around the corner, which is always handy.
