My 6-night stay at Traum House was, quite simply, the highlight of my trip to Trinidad. From the moment I arrived, I wasn't just a guest; I felt like I was part of the family. The Hosts Professor Rajendran and his wife, Karina, are the soul of this place. They are some of the most genuine, lively, and kind-hearted people I have ever met. They went above and beyond the call of duty, frequently driving me around and ensuring I felt safe and comfortable navigating Port of Spain. The Experience What truly set this stay apart was the personal touch: Authentic Flavors: I was treated to delicious home-cooked meals that were better than any restaurant. They even made sure I experienced the local culture by providing the famous "doubles"—a must-try! Warm Atmosphere: The energy in the house is wonderful. Karina’s liveliness and the Professor’s wisdom make for excellent conversation and a very welcoming environment. Unforgettable Hospitality: I didn't just have a place to sleep; I had a home.

I had a blast staying at Maracas Gardens during Carnival, and if you’re looking for a cozy retreat just outside Port of Spain (about 30 to 45 minutes from the city center), this is your perfect haven. Arlene, the owner, is a total gem—so kind, so welcoming, and absolutely determined to make sure you feel at home. Her family is equally as warm. Whether you’re a Carnival goer or just seeking a peaceful Trinidad escape, this place is perfect—especially with its own private pool. When I ran into costume mishaps or transportation hiccups, Arlene was right there helping me troubleshoot — even when it wasn’t her responsibility. Arlene also by created special breakfast options, tailored to my dietary preferences. If you want a blend of Carnival magic, serene vibes, and a family that feels like friends, book Maracas Gardens. We will always stay in touch with Arlene and her family—they have truly become like lifelong friends to us.

Absolutely friendly staff. I’m sorry I didn’t retain in of the staffs name but they were all friendly and inviting. Upon checking in I was greeted with a pleasant smile from the young man that checked me in. My entire stay was perfect.

Nice and clean. Beautiful location and view. The staff was just the best. Very kind and helpful staff

The staff were all hospitable and friendly. The place very clean and beautifully decorated for the season.

Breakfast was included in our booking. Delivered by excellent chefs at one of their high-end onsite restaurants.

Perfect location / spotlessly clean / beyond friendly staff

When I had an issue the staff was immediately accommodating. Very polite and professional. The room was average, but the staff from the (front desk to the parking lot security) provided a great experience.

Loved everything Will definitely stay there again

I loved the person who checked us in...she was so hospitable. I told her it was my sons bday, so we decided to treat him to a night at Marriot and evening of fun at the carousel with his friends....when we were at the carousel, she arranged a surprise for us in our room...a cake and a balloon...he was overjoyed...he turned 8...and his words were "I feel like a King". Thank you for your fabulous service and wonderful facilities. Breakfast was lovely as well.

Everything. The room was gorgeous, staff was very accommodating
