As a solo backpacker, I was unsure whether to spend money on this place but it's SO worth it. There's a larger dorm room that fits 4 people and two smaller single dorm rooms for 1 person each - they all have great views. It was quiet when I was there so I was given a single room in the dorm block and it was beautiful! (Note, there's no windows so you're open to hearing all the jungle noises, it's great). I ended up extending my stay as I didn't want to leave. The showers / toilets are basic in an outdoors block below the dorm cabin. The water wasn't hot but it was warm, pleasant to shower in in the Amazon heat. There's also hammocks to chill in under there, in the dorm balcony, and over in the main entrance / dining block. For food - you're out of town but the accommodation can provide all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). I did this each day and it was all delicious and very reasonably priced. i.e. breakfast is 15k and I think dinner is 22k. I found this place better than my experience deeper in the Amazon. There's so much wildlife here and the staff are really enthusiastic about showing you and sharing their knowledge. You can spot monkeys on the estate and on the road outside and so many birds. You can also go on a night time walk to spot frogs with a nearby hostel that they arrange for 50k including your evening meal - super worth it! The guide was so knowledgeable and it was great fun. Not to mention the rainforest hike to their waterfall - it's not huge or insanely powerful but it's one of my favourites I've come across in ten months travelling South America. It has a double drop and it's like a little oasis heaven. You can even jump from the top. I spent hours swimming and just sitting there in peace. They also have a natural pool by the accommodation which was really nice to swim in - even during the rain! Again, can't fault this place. Everyone was so welcoming.

The family that owns/operates the facility is very kind. Don Enrique is muy amable and can help you with information on the area. The room is spacious and clean. The location worked well for us as it is close to Fin del Mundo and other hiking options, and was quiet and near the forest. It is quite far from town but you can get on the 4 bus or take a taxi., but if you prefer being central this is not your best option. If you plan to cook, recommend that you stop at the Mocoa Mercado beforehand. There is a small tienda not far away, and the family does operate the restaurant Casa de Chorizo in front where the asado is cooking up their namesake chorizo as well as cerdo and pescado.

The location is absolutely amazing, so beautiful and right in nature. It's a family run business and all of the staff are all so lovely, welcoming and friendly. They can't do enough for you, it's like a home away from home. And very good value for money.

I love that it not immediately accessible by automobile. I love that the location is integrated into the jungle and not just a brick building in a clear cut. I love that the sounds I hear at night are not manmade. I LOVE the mosquito nets
