"We stayed next to one of the ancient city gates of the Altstadt. The old town is marvellous and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We walked the first leg of the World Heritage path into the Wachau on a beautiful day. and it was a trip that we will always remember fondly. Krems is most certainly worth a visit. I had stayed in the outskirts of the city some years ago when cycling the Danube bicycle path. I didn't realise at the time that the Altstadt was worth visiting but made up for it this time."

"Stift Melk and its gardens deserve a leisurely visit. The town of Melk must be walked through to admire its old, beautifully restored buildings A day worth reserving for a wonderful cruise on the Danube to admire the Wachau valley. We recommend stopping and walking through Dürnstein"

"Lovely peaceful, historic town in vine growing area. Good public transport facilities, great place for visiting other nearby towns/villages, right by the river Danube. Great for cycling, walking , river trips, wine tasting. Lots of cafes and restaurants . My only complaint as a person who suffers from coeliac disease is the only shop, The Spar , did not sell any gluten free bread that you could eat off the shelf, you had to toast or bake it. This made things more limiting than they already were for us."

Quiet, countryside location just off the freeway. Very helpful staff - Benny went out his way to help. New, clean, modern hotel with the latest technology. Excellent ample parking facilities around the premises. Excellent bar with a relaxing ambience, and a restaurant serving great comfort food at fair prices. It was 21:30, I was tired from driving all day, I didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprise by how good it it. A welcome and relaxing environment.

Where to start? Amazing location with beautiful views. We could just sit and enjoy the views. Tasty food, we had breakfasts and dinners and the food was just great, rich variations, tasty vegetables and fruits, fine wine.. Staff was helpful, whatever we needed, they tried to help. There were a lot of small things, like you don't need to clean your room, you get the present, but all the small things make it to wonderful experience. Swimming pool was next to the second building of the hotel, just some meters to walk, there was refreshment, table tennis, bedminton.. We will come again, definitely.

It is a very nicely renovated hotel, which is tastefully set in a landscape of vineyards. The towering ruins of the castle, which you look at when you have breakfast in the morning in a beautiful garden restaurant, or when you go to bed in the evening, will remind you of how fertile the region is. The quality of the wines and the skill of the chef in the local restaurant will make your stay very interesting and unforgettable.

An incredibly historic, picturesque place. Wonderful to finally visit! I didn’t have the opportunity to stop at the Museums but I would have liked to, as they offer a comprehensive understanding of the history of the region. I really enjoyed my stay at the Bioweingut Schmidl- comfortable and easy to access the walled city.

Weissenkirchen is an absolutely fantcastic place right in the heart of Wachau. The landscape and architecture are amazing. The city is full of history and at the same time very contemporary and nicely kept. Explore the many narrow lanes and foothpaths and make sure to taste the local specialities and drinks in the many "Heurigens" in Weissenkirchen. If you are into Wine this is definitely one of the best places to go in Austria. My favourites were white wines, namely the Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners. The white wines are rated in three classes: For me it works out this way: Starting a good dinner with a light Steinfeder as an apperitive, followed by a Federspiel for the main course and crowned by the full bodied Smaragd with remarkable bouquet and taste together with the amazing Marillenknödel as dessert.
