- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 38 reviewsA very nice stay. Hosts were excellent. Very friendly, informative, relaxed but professional. The chalet was exactly what we had requested. To find somewhere quite private, 2 bedrooms with self-catering was a bonus. There aren't too many places that fit that criteria on the Island. Slightly out of town, but that's still very close on Norfolk. Norfolk is very different. Very nice. We can see why so many people get drawn there. 9 days was just enough. Very clean and well equipped.Guest review byJohnAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 77 reviewsWe absolutely loved everything about our stay at Whispering Pines (Cottage 3). This was our 4th visit to NI, and our accommodation was the best by far. Super comfy beds, large bedrooms and bathrooms, and EVERYTHING supplied. We even had a super picnic basket which we used several times. A great little Weber BBQ which we also used a couple of times. Stunning views around the cottage and sooo quiet. Will definitely be returning to Whispering Pines :)Guest review byCatherine S HammondAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 36 reviewsThe service was lovely, Karen met us at the airport and we followed her in our hire car back to the retreat. The retreat is very well located to the town and is surrounded by lovely natural bush with nice views from the upper apartment/pool area. The pool is a perfect size for just chilling out at the end of the day. The two bedroom apartment was very clean, had a fully equipped kitchen, really quiet location and was very comfortable.Guest review byMelanieAustralia

Locals are friendly. A good range of shops.
Locals are friendly. A good range of shops. Great little cafes and eating options. Everything you need is there. It's the hub. There's history and breathtaking views on every turn. For a place with such history, it's very quiet and evokes such a sense of peace and calm. A great place to slow down and recharge.Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 10.0
The whole island is a friendly place.
The whole island is a friendly place. The people obviously care for each other and the community works as a whole. The history of Norfolk will never be forgotten, and you learn so much from the many tours available. The modern day is present as well with WiFi and eco tourism is practised there in spades. The only negative for travellers who have never been before is that the whole island closes down at 12pm on Wednesday. Make sure you find out the opening hours of businesses. You will need a car to go to all of the attractions. The beach at Emily Bay, Kingston. Anson Bay, Captain Cooks lookout, the Gardens and Mt. Pitt. Restaurants abound but be prepared for shortages in fresh milk and vegetables. Food is a new adventure.Guest review bySandraAustralia - 10.0
The main township on the island.
The main township on the island. Lots of great places to eat or just have a coffee. Be prepared though: as everything needs to come from the mainland by ship, the prices at the grocery market are very dear! My wife tells me that the selection, price and quality of shoes and handbags at the Franks Shoes were extraordinary. Restaurants that we recommend: Salty Beer Garden for an informal bite, The Olive for great coffee, Hilli Restaurant and Bailey's Restaurant for fine dining. You must try the Trumpeter, it's served at most restaurants and it's amazing! We initially stayed in Burnt Pine at the Cumberland Resort. The great part of staying in and around Burnt Pine is that the tour buses pick you up right in front of your property.Guest review byErnest JilgAustralia
