United KingdomWe had a lovely time staying here. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, and really made us feel at home — especially important as we were travelling with our 1-year-old daughter.
The house is beautifully decorated, really peaceful and comfortable, with a big garden and large toy room. Our room was super comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Both dinner and breakfast were fresh and amazing too.
It’s such a relaxing and family-friendly place, and you can tell a lot of love and care has gone into it. We only stayed one night as we were travelling to Pairi Daiza, but we’d definitely love to come back one day!

i booked a taxi not from the hotel and had to come at 6.00am to go to the airport, did not show up.
since there are no taxis in the area the receptionist offered me to take me to the airport himself.

Very accommodating and nice. Love that it has a restaurant in the hotel if we couldn’t pick up dinner. They already had fans in the room for the heat. Small fridges to keep our waters cold.

Transportation to and from Brussels is well organized with...
Transportation to and from Brussels is well organized with the IC trains. We got "Train+" discount card for 1 month (4 euro), even though we stayed just for a week, bc the discount paid off!
Do keep in mind it's an hour ride to Brussels, though. We had to do that every day, even when visiting other cities like Bruge or Gent, bc all of the trains for these destinations depart from Brussels actually.
So I am not so sure we actuslly saved money on accommodation (hotel was cheaper than Brussels), bc we probably spent them on all those train tickets...
ALSO, idk if it was the neighborhood we mostly stayed in (near Central Station), or the city in general - it was very SKETCHY. I saw drug-dealing with my own eyes. Would not walk alone at night. Thank God I was with my partner!
One of the days I was in Brussels, my partner and our friend spent it in Charleroi by visiting a church, a park and a Contemporary Art Museum, and they pretty much liked the experience ^^
First day we ate at the shopping center right next to the Central Station, but it was pricey.
We also shopped at the 24/7 "Raza supermarket" which saved our dinner one night!
BUT I was not pleased to find out that for our last night, even though we had moved to a hotel closer to airport for our early flight, that didn't make our transportation to the airport easier, but harder T.T Ended up having to get a taxi for 24 f****ing EUR, when we were told over phone by operator it would cost 13!!!!!

The city of Mons is one of those towns that is overlooked in...
The city of Mons is one of those towns that is overlooked in Belgium. You can use this small villa as a hub to go and visit the nearby towns. The train station was recently updated beautifully. You can reach Brussels in one hour from Mons by train. Either in winter or summer, Mons is worth a visit.

Awesome architecture, beautiful old town and lovely to wonder around. Very quiet on a Monday and Tuesday so if you want a vibe, start your stay from a Wednesday. City under going huge regeneration at the moment (May 2026), so there is a lot of construction which did make navigating some of the old town difficult and some of the suggested parks etc were inaccessible

The animal park is astonishing, the best one I have ever been to, absolutely worth the visit even without kids. Especially in spring when everything is blooming. The fauna goes without saying but also the plants and flowers are wonderful as well as the architecture, taken to the perfection. And the steam train! 15 out of 10 for me!

The room was comfy and good. I had the cleaner breathing down my neck cause I checked out right on 10am. This place lacked atmosphere, and the breakfast wasn't great.Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Perfect location for visiting Pairi Daiza.
Perfect location for visiting Pairi Daiza. Kids are tired after long day in zoo, so then it is convenient if you have a location close by. City center of Ath looks also nice for a stroll, but we did not do this because we had not enough time left for this

Lac de l'Eau d'Heure is a pleasant spot for a few days' vacation, it has a lot of activities for kids and adults alike. There are some beach areas that are nice. Easy to cycle around the lake and there are some good restaurants to choose from which are within easy reach with a bike.

Nice small country town with new industrial facilities kept out of town. Nice farming country landscapes. Highways nearby (N7, E429). Multiple great and casual eating facilities and new grocerystore nearby. Fifteen min. to Paira Daiza (largest zoo in all of Europe), 45 min. from Brussels and airport, 25 min. to Tournai/Doornik.

Charleroi is one of the saddest places I' ve ever been.
Terrible.
Just a ugly town, bad energy, although i met some real nice people.
Waste of time to spent a day in Charleroi.
Better go to Compiegne(France)
