They are spacious, cosy and srylish.
The bathroom offers separated shower cabin and bath tube. Soap and shampoo are top quality.
Coffee and tea are provided with a Nespresso like kettle.
The breakfeast waa yummy, for most part home made with local products. I personnaly enjoyed the range of cheeses, the jams, the homebaked cake and the various breads.
All of it is served in a posh tableware.
I definitely recommand this place as a starting point to visit this region of Belgium.

Breakfast had a great variety - if I wasn't working I would have had a glass of fizz
Didnt use the spa as didnt have time
Restaurant was fully booked so we ate in the bar, which is lovely but was disappointed that our second night (due to flight cancellation) on sunday wasnt open neither was the bar - so had to eat out
Joke on reception was absolutely amazing - she was able to arrange a further night stay for us due to our flights being cancelled and when the bar was closed, was able to arrange drinks for us - she is a credit to Martins!

This is the definition of a perfect overnight stay on a summer bicycle trip. Safe storage in a garage for our bikes, clean, comfortable room with aircon, a shaded terrace for drinks and an excellent, well-priced steak dinner, a very quiet night's sleep and a great breakfast - all at a reasonable price in a welcoming family hotel.

Good choice of restaurants with some posh chocolate shops and good beers. Quite a good range of chain stores and niche smaller shops.
Really like its compactness and easy train ride from Brussels.
Visit Hasselt tourist centre is about 50m from our hotel Het Menneke.
Hasselt Greeters offer free personal introduction to Hasselt.
The Japanese Garden, the largest in Europe, is well worth a visit.
Best restaurant we found was de Orangerie, sited in a long atrium. Nice menu includes Flemish favourites. Attentive staff.
Best bar is Koks&Tales, a slick cocktail bar.

The area is calm, with so much nature to explore.
The area is calm, with so much nature to explore. There are hikes to do with many paths. There are sights to visit such as the 'reading between the lines' church, a wall still standing in parts of the city from ancient Roman times, several local pubs, and pastry shops that make your mouth water.

We made a special journey to Tongeren for the weekend Antiques Market. It was great wandering around the market and buying some nice things.
Apart from the market the town was very nice with nice architecture and a nice park.
I learnt something about the long history of the place and would like to find out more.

The beds are really uncomfortable being wrapped in plastic, the airco wasn't working properly and the oven on which we where counting for our dinner wasn't there.
The renter couldn't offer us a solution.

The location was peaceful and the accommodation very comfortable. We enjoyed walking through the woods in the evening to a lovely restaurant overlooking the lake. It was an easy drive into Maastrict and also the pretty village of Oud Rekem - both worth a visit. We did not go into Lanaken itself as our time there was too short.

We have stayed before and it was good.
We have stayed before and it was good. This time, however, we were not informed that the restaurant was closed. It's in a remote place so having to get back in the car after a long journey didn't suit us. The windmill was covered with scaffolding - again, not informed that workmen were around. Only one other guest, and hosts were not present until we waited 20/30 minutes for them to come to let us in, and the woman came back for breakfast (which had to be chosen on arrival by way of a tick-sheet). As I said, it's in a remote place so nowhere to walk to; around 20 mins drive to town or shopping outlet.
Sadly, the changes have turned it into a place we won't be visiting again.

This was planned as a "pit-stop" enroute to another destination. We were pleasantly surprised by Hasselt. Charming town with good stylist shopping and great choice of wine-bars. Very friendly hospitable people.

There’s just enough to do here for an overnight stay - two nights might be pushing it. The flea market (Sunday) is great and there are enough high quality museums to keep you busy. A decent number of bars and restaurants and there are some lovely areas to walk around. A nice place for a relaxing break.

The place was very cozy and clean, the location of this house was very beautiful, situated next to the Vijverzicht lake. The house contained all of the necessary things needed for a stay. Perfect location to travel around the Limburg area, with very good access to grocery shoppings and restaurants in the vicinity. Close to Maastricht as well. Very good value for money.
