United KingdomThis is a delightful place to stay - comfortable nice breakfast and a social help motive (as I understand it some of the staff are being helped back to work as a kind of help scheme). There's a shared kettle and coffee machine on the 1st floor and an honesty bar but not really space in the fridge to use it to keep one's own provisions cool. A great bonus given the intense heat during my stay was the well functioning AC. De Pastorie is in a rural village between Borgloon and Tongeren - the question re whether it's a good location depends greatly on your needs but for me it was ideal to explore some of the castle, public art and other offbeat attractions in this area. Parking was easy enough and it wasn't the fault of the property that one of the access roads was closed for roadworks.

SwitzerlandI could check-in 2 hours early and check-out 1 hour late, which I appreciated. The room was great and I loved the garden, the bed was super comfortable and the host Patrick was very nice. I also got a homemade cherry marmelade.

United KingdomExcellent location in the centre of the town with easy free parking; there was a convenient EV charging point very close for overnight charging (22KW). The property is very characterful with many original features dating back as far as 1666. The bedroom was spacious with excellent bathroom facilities. Shower was excellent.
The breakfast was very good too with plenty of choice, all served in a delightful characterful breakfast/dining room. In the summer months the host said that breakfast can be taken outside in the garden or terrace.
The host was very friendly and helpful
There is a good selection of restaurants nearby.
Highly recommended.

The area is calm, with so much nature to explore.
The area is calm, with so much nature to explore. There are hikes to do with many paths. There are sights to visit such as the 'reading between the lines' church, a wall still standing in parts of the city from ancient Roman times, several local pubs, and pastry shops that make your mouth water.
